NCAA March Madness 2011

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kansas came in as the second-ranked team in the nation, with a 35-2 record. In the pregame meeting for captains, Rodriguez said one of the Jayhawks' Morris twins — Marcus or Markieff, he didn't know which one — told him, "Y'all had a good run. It's about to end now."

"We'll see," Rodriguez said

Kansas players walked slowly off the court. Several, including Markieff Morris, cried.

You have to be crazy to think Ohio State isn't one of the best teams in the country. Kentucky is not better than Ohio State, but they were better on Friday and thats all that matters. VCU is not better than Kansas but they were better on Sunday. OSU and Kansas missed a ton of shots they normally hit. In a 7 game series both of those teams would have beaten the teams they lost to. All that being said, I would never want to change the format. The fact that it is a one and done is what makes it special. I love the tournament even though the best team doesn't always win.

So we complain about the BCS choosing the wrong teams to play in the National Championship or bowl games and the lack of a playoff system but when a sport lets them play it out on the field/court (ie like the NFL playoffs), we want to change it? SMH

Kentucky forward Darius Miller and his Kentucky met Jay-Z in the locker room minutes after advancing to the Final Four with a 76-69 win against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament East Regional final.

“That in itself was a pretty nice experience to add on to (the Final Four),” Miller said. “Going to the Final Four (is bigger) by far. But still, Jay-Z. It's crazy. This whole day has been crazy. I'm still taking it all in.”

Jay-Z, a Brooklyn, N.Y., native, is a partial owner of the NBA's New Jersey Nets. UK spokesman DeWayne Peevy said his visit to the UK locker room wasn't planned in advance.

Peevy wasn't certain if the rapper had been in the stands for the game. He was waiting in the hallway as UK players returned to the locker room after the game, and players were caught by surprise.

“I said, ‘Oh that's Jay-Z!' ” forward Terrence Jones said. “We all gave him a handshake and he came in the locker room, and we just kept screaming ‘Jay-Z in the locker room!' He congratulated us, just said he was proud of us.”

Calipari is believed to have met Jay-Z through NBA power broker William Wesley.

So a part NBA owner and an NBA agent were in the locker room right after the win?

Isiah Thomas is coaching an NCAA team while obviously working for an NBA team at the same time. No one seems to care...

Who does everyone have tonight? Butler? Or UCONN? I want to say UCONN, but I'm leaning torwards Butler. They lost one of the best players in the draft.....Gordon Hayward. Plus, Butler almost beat Duke last year.

I am choosing Butler tonight.

this is the worst title game I have ever watched. Butler is shooting 15% as a TEAM. my god

Well these were both two mediocre teams in the regular season.....

Great tournament ends with a crapfest.

HOT BUTTERED DONALD SIGHTING!

This is almost as bad as the Wisconsin-Penn State Big Ten tourney games. Talk about garbage.

Anybody else see hot buttered Donny there? He's kept thin :chuckles:

I predict UConn takes this one. Heard it here first.

Jigo with the sleeper pick...

Matt Howard is terrible...

One of the worst games I have seen..
