I was listening to ESPN radio last night, when i heard them talking about a new sign and trade rumor. I haven't been able to find any other info about it, other than that report, but i wanted to see what you guys thought about it. The report was z, gooden and newble for shaq. Shaq is allegedly upset with the touches he got in the conference finals and wants out of Miami.
I've got mixed feelings about that possibility. Shaq has had injury problems lately, and they will only get worse. The same could have been said of Z a couple years ago, so maybe that's a wash there. Love him or hate him, shaq can ball and along with the addition of hughes would have to make us the favorites in the east.
My biggest problem with this, is that shaq may not be as competitive when LeBron needs to re-sign, and may choose to sign elsewhere.
It seems to me to be a quick couple of championship runs with no long term dynasty possibilities. It's a rumor fellas, but what do you think?

Doubtful, very doubtful.

I don't really believe the rumor neither.

But if we had a chance to get Shaquille, I would probably go for it. Shaq and LeBron is guarenteed Eastern Conference Finals.

:chuckles: Won't happen in a million years.. but we can dream.

shag is getting old and injury prone pls no shaq .

Well no way in hell this happens but if you were the Cavs you would do that deal in two seconds.

the reason this is not a rumor is because it was on espn radio.. thus, no link--good thinking buddy..

now if i could create a rumor like this ? then yes, in a second.

but i could say the same thing about garnett- duncan

shaq is not frustrated. plus, i'm pretty sure miami is a comfortable place to live..

and now that pat riley wants to coach the team again, i don't think there is a shot in hell shaq leaves, or wants to leave, or miami wants him gone.

after the lakers fired del harris several years ago, shaq stated that pat riley was his #1 choice, and that phil jax was #2... i never heard mike brown as a choice :chuckles:

i'm pretty sure the big fella wants to play for riley.. and stay put- and i think the feeling is mutual... but thanks for the hypo scenario...

guys...its a troll.... hes got 1 post

I'm not a troll k4n, i read the board a lot. I'm not trying to start a bunch of stuff, i heard the rumor on espn radio last night. I never said it was going down. I only wondered what people thought about the hypothetical trade. If i could link the radio announcer, i would, but i can't.
It's not like a lot else is going on today, so for those who would like to speculate on weather or not this is an even trade, then they can partake. I don't think it's as crazy as you think. Shaq has a player option for next season, if he is unhappy like the report stated, then he could leave miami and they would have nothing. Miami would need to replace him, and there isn't a huge FA left to replace their loss of shaq. If he's going, a trade for Z, gooden and Newble for them isn't bad. In fact, it may be lopsided the other way, as Shaq has been more injury prone lately than Z.

Injury prone or not, Shaq shows up for the playoffs every year. And that is when he is the most productive. He may miss 10-15 games a season, but as long as the entire team plays well enough to make the playoffs, Shaq will be ready. He has proved that every season.

If you have the opportunity to get Shaquille O'Neal, you take it. Shaq=Success.

I'm don't think this is a real rumor. It sounds like radio hosts just speculating on things if the talk of Shaq being unhappy with things in Miami is true and what fantasy sign and trades could possibly be done.

There's no way Miami ever trades Shaq.

it wouldn't take that long

this will never EVER happen. EVER. Shaq pretty much begged LA to trade him to a Florida team. he isn't going to want to back out of there. he only played one season and they made it to the conference finals. if dwane wade didn't get hurt, then the heat would have probably been battling the spurs instead.

Pioneer, Id do it in half a second.

Its Shaq, with Lebron?! Wow...

But it wont happen, when Shaq requested a trade he wanted traded to a warm weather city. Regardless of Lebron, he wont be in Cleveland.
