New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agreed all around. Regarding the spoiler...
Smith seems to question the Reich only when its horrible policies adversely impact him personally, as with his children. He doesn't seem to give two shits about the suffering of others.

So I hope that he switches sides to help the Resistance, but still gets royally fucked in the end

He’s a villain no doubt. But both when the test subjects were being put into the anomaly and when Lady Liberty got blown up, he seemed to express genuine disgust. That’s how I (and others, judging from the recaps I read) took it, anyways.

He’s obviously going to wake up at some point, but he’s also too far down the rabbit hole in my opinion so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle it.

I don't recall them referencing anything other than the ending of The Defenders, which includes Daredevil so is of course canon.

Never watched it or even know anything about it.

Show starts and Murdock is half dead and rambling about Elektra which made no sense. So I had to read up on this Defenders shit and educate myself and find out I missed a whole plotline. Silly me for expecting Daredevil Season 3 to continue Daredevil Season 2’s plot threads I suppose. :chuckle:

Well, I mean, no more silly than expecting Marvel movies to continue plot threads from other Marvel movies. Yeah, you can watch them stand-alone, but it's not ideal. They follow a long-term plot, just like the Marvel Netflix shows. And Defenders was basically the culmination of Phase One of the Marvel shows just like Avengers the the culmination of Phase One of the Marvel movies.

I mean thats fine if you like that. I dont. I dont have time to watch movies and shows I have zero interest in just so I can follow the plot when the movie or show I DO want to watch comes back. Shit I barely have time to watch the ones I actually do want to watch.

Not sure these Netflix Marvel cancellations are about the Disney streaming service.

Netflix just seems to be trimming down some of shows in general.

House of Cards ends next month.

Plus they just announced OITNB just has one more final season.

With so many shows in their original content library and infinite more upcoming, I think Netflix maybe feels they can cancel some of these comic based shows. I mean you have to remember that when Daredevil Season 1 came out, Netflix only had OITNB, HOC, and Bloodline as original dramas.

With upcoming comic book source material shows like Sabrina, the Umbrella Academy, and Daybreak plus the new Witcher show, Netflix might just feel like mediocre Marvel shows aren't needed.

The Defenders was basically season 3 of Daredevil, which is why there wasn't a new season of Daredevil in 2017

Yup, and it pretty much wrapped up the whole storyline with the Hand and Elektra.

That's unfortunate because I didn't have any interest in watching the defenders. I'm in Chris' boat having watched season 1 and 2 of dare devil and was eventually going to watch season 3, but it looks like I would be confused a bit.

They beat the Hand and a building came down on top of Daredevil and Elektra. Everyone assumes Matt to be dead. Elektra too, but no one cares about her.

There. You're all caught up.

Pretty much what I did, I just googled it a bit. Wasnt going to stop me from watching, just a minor annoyance when I went to sit down and watch. After the first episode and a google search I was good.

Although now I feel like I need to go watch the Defenders to get the wrap up on the story from Season 2. But fuck it.

Defenders wasn't bad. It was short and had a lot of fight scenes. The entire Hand story never made much sense imo, and that stayed true in Defenders. Madame Gao was awesome, though, as always.

Yeah, that’s fine I just didnt have interest in the other heroes besides Daredevil. Elektra was kinda hot but whatever.

Maya Rudolph is as blisteringly irritating as she isn't funny.

I have a friend that works for Disney, specifically the streaming service is what he’s working on right now. He told me that they have no bearing on the cancellations as Netflix could keep those series going for as long as they want.

House of cards is ending because they probably aren’t getting the same ratings without spacey. Orange is the new black has honestly run its course.

They also have Narcos, Ozark, and Mindhunter. They also have some good foreign shows like 3% and money heist.

If you haven’t watched any of them, you really should.

Finished Daredevil season 3, I'd say it was the best one yet. Loved Charlie Cox and D'Onofrio as usual, they really make the show go. Also loved Nadeem's character and Bullseye really grew on me. My only downside is that Karen feels like a bit of a wet blanket.
