Started handmaid’s tale, four episodes in. Where the fuck have I been man?
Damn that sounds wild. I'll add it to my list of things to watch (which is getting pretty long).Have you seen Mad Men? (Mistake if not). Peggy Olson — a character from Mad amen (I don’t know her name) plays a lodnapped citizen and is forced to be a part of a cult-like community and is raped in order to conceive for elite families in which the wife is incapable of conception.
Like I said, only four episodes in but every episode has me asking questions thus far. I also have a strong preference for darker stuff, so. It’s on hulu; if access is an issue hit me up
I just purchased access to the platform last week; once the gf and I catch up on HMT I’ll check one of these out if you’d recommend any. I’m really nit-picky with shoes though. I’m not big on fantasy or scify.I think it's Hulu's best original series. The only shows that Hulu has put out that comes close are the mini series of Catch 22, The Looming Tower, and 11.22.63. Castle Rock is up there too but they have only released one season of that so far.
The First could have been really good if it got renewed past the 1st season. The first season was miscalculated and didn't get an audience but really set up for what could have been a really good show from that point forward.
Looking pretty good.
I was surprised that Henry Cavill is the star of this. I thought he was a big enough movie star that he would do a Netflix show. I then looked at his IMDB and realize if you take out him being Superman, he really hasn't done much in the last 10 years.
Apparently he's a big fan of either the books or the games. Don't remember which. I think he pushed to get the role.
Makes sense that if he was a big fan that he would sign on. It gives him a steady income for a long time and he probably ends up having the time to do the same amount of movie work if it available to him.
He feels like that kind of actor that would fade away if he wasn't Superman. Being on a show like the Witcher that Netflix is pushing pretty hard might actually help his movie career. He won't fade from view if he is starring in one of Netflix's biggest shows for the better part of the next decade.
