Newble Becoming Available?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our roster is at 14 including Snow. If we include Allred (who is still unguaranteed I believe), that's 15. But both of those guys may not end up being on the roster, so who knows, we may add a filler piece or two.

Wallace must be moved. Let Wally expire

Just say no to Newble.

He cant really play and Mike Brown would be tempted to play him.

If we never picked up wright, i wouldnt be opposed to getting newbs for backup 4.

Maybe Erie are looking for a very average, over the hill role playing forward for their debut season! That'll bring the crowds.

Why are you assuming we trade for Darko and Jaric? And how does it help our situation to basically ignore Wally's existence?

Even at this point in his career, Newble is twice the player that Sasha Pavlovic is. Newble's versatility won a few games for the Cavaliers last season during the difficult times early in the season.

If the Cavs are serious about winning a championship next season (and they need to be) I urge them immediately explore moving "Pavs" for a second round pick and bringing Newble in as an emergency veteran option off the bench.

No... that's not a good idea.

Pavs was looking good the season before the holdout, slump, and injury. If he doesn't bounce back, and that's certainly a possibility, okay shop him. But there is a chance he rebounds and gets back to business. He has potential to be a wing defender we need as well as another shooter and/or weak scoring option off the bench. Sending him off for a gamble in a second round pick or to pick up a player with less potential like Newble would be a bad idea IMO.

I think they are serious about winning a championship and Pavs will be part of talks to get a real player, not just a pick or Ira Newble (a package of course, we aren't getting an all-star for Pavs).

I would concede that perhaps "Pavs" should be retained to ultimately become part of a larger trade package. However, they must make it happen!

I do not support retaining "Pavs" as a serious roster option.

"Pavs":
No Handle
No Finish on the Drive
No Rebounds
No Assists
High Turnovers
Slow release on open threes
Some but inconsistent defense

I'll take Newble for emergency help during what hopefully is a championship run.

Just my opinion from what I have seen with my own eyes. What you see from "Pavs" is what you get--no more hope of "potential" or "upside".

Well CommD lets see how this camp plays out. Sasha has Williams, Gibson, James, Wally, West and Kinsey all playing back court minutes. If he is as bad as you believe he wont sniff the court and will be on the block. If he plays to his potential, he is the starting 2 guard.

Isn't our roster at 15? And if we were to sign someone to come in and compete, it better be a big guy.

Our roster is at 15, but one of those 15 is allred. So we have an open spot, (snow will need to be carried for awhile). Not sure Newble is the answer by any means, but the roster spot is there.
