NFL Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Some Pittsburgh reporter bragging about their improved QB's: "All of our quarterbacks last year retired and died."

I think it was less bragging than it was saying how much Rudolph sucks.

Was it Mark Madden? Sounds like something Mark Madden would say. Although from what I've seen he doesn't seem to like any of the Steelers QB options at the moment.

Rudolph has apparently (inadvertently?) been listed as QB2 on the depth chart... Perhaps this stoked that fellow's (possibly drunk) ire.

I feel bad for the kid but...Justin Fields sucks man. There's nothing there when you watch him. He had some weaknesses at OSU and they're just glaring in Chicago when the talent on the outside isn't overwhelming.

It sucks because I wanted an OSU QB to finally produce but at this point NFL teams should be wary.

OSU produces elite, elite WR talent and OSU QBs should be side-eyed until they prove otherwise at the NFL.

I get the opposite impression.

That Bears offense is the least talented group in the league.

Arguably the worst offensive line in football.

Their #2 receiver is a cast-off from the Packers, who are desperate for any receiver help they can get. Their third receiver is a cast-off from the Chiefs who are in a similar boat. When your first WR is Darnell Mooney, who's fine, but isn't an alpha by any stretch of the imagination, and your second and third receiving options are Equanimious St. Brown and Byron Pringle, you're in trouble.

The Bears had a franchise QB fall into their laps--sliding down the draft board and costing them way less draft capital than it should.

And they're blowing it.

Justin Fields is going to be ruined. Poor kid never had a chance.

Eh. He just doesn't process reads quickly at all. Had the same issues at OSU at times where he'd stick and stick and then run.

I see the same stuff and wasn't sold on him as a top tier guy.

I get they're not talented, but if he was elite he'd be showing more than this at this point. He's showing absolutely nothing at all.

What offense are they running?

Was telling a friend that, while they seemingly added more designed movement through PA/Boot, everything they’re doing out of it is long developing.

He took a sack in the 4th on a PA that took forevvvvver to develop. Fed to the wolves.

I don't think he's elite. I don't think he's on the level of Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, etc no matter who you put around him.

I don't think the gap between him and Trevor Lawrence is that large. I think that I'd take Fields over Jalen Hurts if I were starting from scratch.

You're absolutely right that he's not going to be the guy who makes quick reads and gets the ball out with lightning quick throws. If he were that guy, and you combine it with his athleticism, he'd have gone #1 overall.

Fields sticks on reads, for sure. But what other option does he have in the situation he is in? If Cooper wasn't here, we would still have a better WR room with DPJ #1 and Bell #2 compared to what Fields has to work with. I don't think at this point he will pull out a Jalen Hurts, but he could be a top 15 QB in a better situation.
