NFL Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Titans are trash. I'm getting flashbacks of Hue's offense

The Alex Smith situation will be one to watch for sure. He's going to be 34 in May...

Think I'd still want to draft a QB at 1. Smith isn't going to be good forever...I don't see him winning MVP at 40 like Tom Brady.

Indifferent so long as they don't win the Super Bowl, which they wouldn't have. But they would've made this game watchable.
There was a greater than a 0% chance they would have won the superbowl if they made the playoffs.

Even a 0.3% chance isn't worth a more watchable game. Fuck the Ravens and fuck the whole city of Baltimore.

That's not really that old for a good QB. Most of them can play until at least their late 30's provided they are actually good.

I agree that you still draft a QB at one, though, or perhaps trade down to two and force the Giants to give you something. Go into it with the understanding that Alex Smith is getting at least a full year as the starter (barring injury) and potentially more that that depending on how the team performs. If he leads them to the playoffs, obviously you give him another crack at it the next year.

You know, the Chiefs blowing a 21-3 halftime lead after a quarterback for the opponent sparked a rally with a touchdown pass to himself is a VERY Chiefs thing to have happen.

This game is going to get wild.

I agree. I think you still take Rosen (or Darnold if Rosen says fuck off). And then just see how it unfolds from there with Smith starting in 2018.

I'm a little surprised the Chiefs don't want to do this themselves. It's just one more year for Mahomes to be on the bench.

As a "bandwagon" Chiefs fan, I'm ready for Mahomes. Alex has been good, and I think he gets a little more hate than he should, but this team seems to have reached their ceiling with him at QB. Time for a change.

I could talk myself into Jackson as well, especially if we get the Giants to give us their second or something to trade up and guarantee Rosen. I'd tell them we're taking him unless they pony up, and if he doesn't like it, tough shit.

As far as the Chiefs go, I think they have a new toy and want to see what it can do. I imagine it'd be the same here. You give Smith a year to make the team respectable, then hand the wheel to the new guy, provided he looks good in practice like Mahomes apparently has. I also think that Smith is good but will never quite be great. Which is why he'd be great here for at least a year. He's a good pro who will make our QB room better and, if we guarantee him at least a year, I think he'll work on mentoring the young QB as well.

Everytime the Titans appear to be gaining momentum, they screw it up.

Lol this game

Yeah, idk. Smith balled out this year. We'll see how the Chiefs fare in the playoffs this year. But either way, the AFC is awful...the only great teams are the Pats and Steelers...Brady is 40 and Big Ben might retire soon. This could be anyone's conference soon. If I was the Chiefs, I'd just ride it out another year with Smith and see what happens. It's just another year. If Big Ben retires and Brady falls off/gets hurt? You can go to the Super Bowl with Alex Smith...and once you're there anything can happen...
