Report: Daniels narrows his choices
ESPN Insider Chad Ford reports Antonio Daniels has shortened the list of teams he'll play for to two:
It looks like free agent point guard Antonio Daniels has narrowed his choices down to the Lakers and Blazers. It would appear that the Lakers would be a no-brainer.
However, Ford says L.A. is only offering a two-year deal. Over the weekend it was reported Daniels is seeking a five-year pact.

A.D. was scheduled to meet with the Jazz yesterday, but Utah GM Kevin O'Connor declined to comment on how the meeting went.

This is coming from Chad Ford. He talks almost as much shit as the New York Post.

Sounds about right though. He really wants to play in LA: it would be a great fit with him.

But he also likes Nate McMillan. But he won't get the starting job nor PT that he wants in Portland.

Doesn't seem like we should pay as much as he wants. The most I'd pay for him would be a 5 yr, 20 mil contract. Dunno if he'll accept that low pay, or if we'll want to lock him up for that long. That contract doesn't really seem too daunting though.

Why in the blue hell would he want to go to Portland. They have Telfair and Jack why would they add another guy who wants minutes who in 2 years will be on the block wanting out, being pushed by jack and telfair.

Daniels is a combo guard, so he can immediately play alongside Telfair. Remember Telfair has yet to assert himself completely in the NBA. Jack may struggle. Who know how he will adjust or whether he will succeed. The Blazers are looking to move Derek Anderson, so they do need help at guard.
