Nobody Beats The Wiz Khalifa Diop

I decided to check how the season is going for Khalifa - not great. He is out of head coach Dusko Ivanovic's Baskonia rotation. Former Michigan State center Matt Costello is playing heavy minutes ahead of him. The conversation on how much he is developing with a handshake agreement in Spain may happen this off-season.

Honestly I doubt he ever plays in the NBA, most late lottery foreign players ever do.

I think it is reasonable if the Cavaliers are frustrated by this development. Diop received the “Rising Star” award in the EuroCup during the 2021-22 campaign, now he is seeing five to ten minute spot duty in the same league. Assuming Isaiah Mobley is no longer on a two way contract next season, Diop would get plenty more floor time on the Charge.

Luke is playing a bigger role for his contending team in Australia, but his three point shooting has taken a step back: 33% on the season as of today. Diop is an even more troubling decline.
