"Obvious" Things You Should Have Known But Didn't

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why isn't any of this shit in the driving test? I took one pretty recently like 3 years ago when I renewed my license in a different state.

It's actually really helpful. I didn't realize until I lived in a bigger city how addresses increased as you got away from the center of the city.

In NYC the numbered avenues run North south and streets east west, so it is really hard to get lost too bad for more than a couple of blocks.

There should be more navigation in school. How do you read a train schedule? How do you transfer? Didn't know you needed to ask the driver in some instances

The only things I remember learning in driving class:

1) It is illegal to make a lane change within 200ft of an intersection in Ohio

2) We were literally taught to not make turns hand over hand. Like keep shuffling your hands between 4 and 8. Reason being if the airbags go off your hands won't break your face.

On the topic of highways, exit numbers are based on mileage. I don’t believe that’s been covered.

Also, male wasps have three vaginas.

Aren't there states where this isn't true for exits? Can't remember

Hutchinson River Parkway / Merritt Parkway / Wilbur Cross is sequentially numbered NY / CT.

NY Thruway mainline also. That one is weird as the higher exit numbers are west, not east.

Wherever you live currently has the worst drivers
That is normally true.

However, I have lived in 14 states, and I have found that the worst drivers live in South Florida in the Miami Metro.

That place is uniquely awful in terms of driving.

LA and Atlanta are bad too.

Alaska is both the most western and eastern US state.
