Off Topic posts that endanger others access

I sent an alert about this and never heard back, but wanted the official line

there was recently an Off-Topic thread started of a pornographic nature. the hyperlink made no mention of what the content was.

I know things are somewhat wide open there by nature , however the point was brought up that it just takes a few posts like that to get this site blacklisted as porn by your company network administratrors denying others the ability to enjoy things here.

Iam not really into you guys turning into the morality police, however I don't want someone not being abale to get to this site because of someone's lack of maturity and need for attention

what is your take on this?

This is the official rule in posting adult content in EAYOR forum. The thread in question followed the rules (Marked not once but twice that it was not safe for work) and therefor no action was taken.

We have no problems debating rules... rules are made to be changed and changed again. I'm sure the EAYOR rule will be brought up again but for now that post was not against RCF policies.

I would like to point out that there were warnings posted all over that thread to stay away if you were at work or at anywhere else that could cause you problems.

yeah, IMHO it sets a bad precedent as it opens the door for a lot and just tagging it enter at your own Risk for me isn't sufficient. For me , it also give free rein to those posting garbage to continue.

If you want to allow/encourage that is your perorogative , like I said previously its your sandbox.

The forum is also not available for public viewing. Only registered members have access to the Eayor forum.

This issue doesn't bother me either way but for some of the members who are concerned, I meant a subforum within Off Topic, eliminating the EAYOR forum and putting it as a subforum of Off Topic. That way it is not visible and made so obvious to someone who was casually viewing the forum and decided to red flag you. Again, I don't care either way, just an idea.
