It's been a while since this thread has been bumped. From the time of the last post in this thread, OSU has secured three more commitments. All have been from defensive players; Dylan Thompson, a three-star strongside defensive end/defensive tackle from Illinois, Sam Hubbard, a four-star safety/outside linebacker from Cincinnati Moeller, and Kyle Berger, a four-star outside linebacker from St. Ignatius. So far, all of the commitments are from either Ohio or other states in the Big Ten footprint (Michigan and Illinois) and I would expect the next few commitments to be the same.
One of the very recent major developments has been the search for this class' quarterback prospect. Deshaun Watson, the primary QB target, solidly reaffirmed his commitment to Clemson and the OSU staff acted quickly to determine their new course of action. Tom Herman, the offensive coordinator and QBs coach, was in Louisiana, Arizona and Florida this week evaluating three prospects: Brandon Harris, a three-star dual threat from Bossier City, Louisiana, Kyle Allen a four-star (five according to Scout.com) pocket passer from Scottsdale, Arizona, and Zack Darlington, a three-star dual threat from Apopka, Florida. Allen was offered yesterday while Harris and Darlington were offered today. It appears as though there will be a race to see who can commit first, as that will be the lone QB in this class.
