Ohio State FB Recruiting

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A reminder that by securing Damon Webb and Lawrence Marshall, OSU has received commitments from two of the top 4 or 5 players from the state up North while still being players for Drake Harris and Malik McDowell.

Suck it, Hoke.

Welp, Lawrence Marshall has decommitted after 4 whole days :chuckles:

Since its not Posted Lawrence Marshall decommitted earlier this week after a visit to MSU

It's been a while since this thread has been bumped. From the time of the last post in this thread, OSU has secured three more commitments. All have been from defensive players; Dylan Thompson, a three-star strongside defensive end/defensive tackle from Illinois, Sam Hubbard, a four-star safety/outside linebacker from Cincinnati Moeller, and Kyle Berger, a four-star outside linebacker from St. Ignatius. So far, all of the commitments are from either Ohio or other states in the Big Ten footprint (Michigan and Illinois) and I would expect the next few commitments to be the same.

One of the very recent major developments has been the search for this class' quarterback prospect. Deshaun Watson, the primary QB target, solidly reaffirmed his commitment to Clemson and the OSU staff acted quickly to determine their new course of action. Tom Herman, the offensive coordinator and QBs coach, was in Louisiana, Arizona and Florida this week evaluating three prospects: Brandon Harris, a three-star dual threat from Bossier City, Louisiana, Kyle Allen a four-star (five according to Scout.com) pocket passer from Scottsdale, Arizona, and Zack Darlington, a three-star dual threat from Apopka, Florida. Allen was offered yesterday while Harris and Darlington were offered today. It appears as though there will be a race to see who can commit first, as that will be the lone QB in this class.

Highlights of each QB

we really need to secure some high end o linemen and more speed at lb in this class!

Congrats to Elisha Shaw, a Buckeye target, who recently received his fourth star on 247 sports.

By the way, Elisha, before you take a picture of it and tweet it....check your tabs.

But at least he got this in return:

Pretty badass hahaha

Lord, some of those names:confused:

Yeah, I think there were rumors about his grades/academics because he was not as heavily recruited as many thought he should be, but Johnson and OSU seemed to fully deny that. Who knows, though - I think NorthCoastKid is probably right.

This is none of my business, but I thought Lonnie Johnson had some academic and grades issues.

I believe OSU was waiting for and received a report on his end of year academics, and got the news they were looking for.

Dante Booker committed to OSU yesterday afternoon. Outside linebacker from SVSM. Has the frame to grow into the LEO position on OSU's defense. Consensus top 3 player in the state. Big assist to his HS teammate Parris Campbell, who was the fourth player to pledge to the Buckeyes.

Booker junior highlights:

There are only three Ohioans remaining with committable offers: ATH Marshon Lattimore and S Erick Smith from Glenville and WR Derek Kief from Cincinnati LaSalle. Lattimore and Smith are locks and will likely commit next January, as most Tarblooder recruits do, while Kief's window seems as though it could be closing soon.

On the enemy front, Jabrill Peppers, a stud 5 star corner and top 10 national player from New Jersey, will be committing to Michigan on Sunday. Definitely the best player Hoke will have landed in his three years up North. His HS teammate, Juwan Bushell-Beatty is already committed to the Wolverines.
