olympic BASKETBALL!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How do they not deserve the gold? They've played like the best team there. No one else deserves it more.
Well by talent alone the U.S. is the best team and by definition automatically deserve the gold. But for the most part the team is playing in “chill mode” and still winning, making it not so exciting for American fans.

Other teams are playing with much more effort and cohesion than the U.S.A. squad.

I know Coach K tore into the team in preseason about showing the class and goodwill of USA Basketball. He was irritated by the show boating when the team would go up by 20+. Watching the team go into "chill mode" directly afterward suggests this is what some players believe he wants. Playing hard with poise must have ended in the mid 90s, I guess.

And it sounds like some of you are watching Boogie more consistently. This is what he does: Flashes of his potential when he is healthy minded and runs a higher motor... then you get Moody Boogie twice as often.

The guy I have been really impressed with is Paul George. Sure, he's not scoring much, but he's playing smart offense and he has been the best perimeter defender on the team, far better than both Klay and Butler. And the latter two are excellent defenders. I really think he's entered that top-tier of players with LeBron, KD, Westbrook, and Curry. If you have Paul George you'll make the playoffs, and frankly, you have a chance to win every round.

Draymond and DeAndre should be starting and finishing over Cousins and Melo. As great as Melo has been shooting and scoring, that starting lineup needs a ball mover. Draymond is a ball mover (no pun intended).

Too bad, because that was a good one.

Yeah, PG is underrated. At 25 he is moving into his prime now too. Led the Pacers to 45 wins last year with not much of a roster around him. I see them winning over 50 this year.

Tomorrow, USA v Argentina 5:45 pm est on NBCSN.

PG13 has that it factor leadership prime Wade had.

I never want to hear another trade Love for Cousins idea again. The guy is a 100% loser. I have no idea why Mike continues to start him either. He's by far and away been the weakest link in the starting lineup.

The only people that would want to trade Love for Cousins are people who have never actually seen Cousins play. Though he has the physical tools to be imposing defensively, he is maddeningly inconsistent with his effort and his rotations. I'm not even sure how much better he is than Love on defense (or if he even is better). And on offense, while he is a devastating post player, he needs to have the ball in his hands to be productive. It would be a bad fit next to ball dominant players like LBJ and Kyrie. But more than anything else he has an atrocious attitude. Nothing is ever his fault in his eyes. But unlike someone like Rasheed Wallace, who was a great teammate despite his temper, Boogie is likely to pout about not getting the ball enough. I can't think of a star player that would be less willing to be the third option on a title contending team than Boogie. That's not to say that he's hopeless..perhaps he would do better in a better situation for him. But he would be a terrible fit for the Cavs unless one of LeBron or Kyrie would be willing to take a backseat to Boogie.

Agree with your points, but to play devil's advocate, maybe we need that third guy to actually bitch enough about getting the ball, and then performing consistently when he does.

That being said, no to cousins

I've been waiting for George and Butler to play together. Starting unit hasn't been defending the last couple of games. See how long Coach K rides this unit.
