Are people serious they wouldn't take Wade on the minimum?

I think people are discussing adding him on the reasonable assumption that he won't be available on the minimum in the first place. Wade on his current salary isn't worth it

Wade for the minimum is a no brainer.

He's not a second option anymore, he's not 30+MPG Wade anymore..

But Wade could absolutely come off the bench as a sixth man and play some damn good basketball, strengthen our second unit, etc playing 15-20mpg, no back to backs, and saving his body for the playoffs.

Wade for the minimum would be a grand slam.

Already covered. He will likely opt in. The only way this convo is realistic is if we get him in a sign and trade. Thought that was understood. Talks about paying Wade the minimum is dreamland. The tweet was more a lighthearted joke than an inside scoop

He left his lifelong team to earn 25mil. Doubt he's just going to give that up to come to cleveland to play for the min. At 20mil we do not want unless we can flip shumpert and someone else for him. Even then I'd rather we waited to flip these assets for defensively capable players. Wade is lazy on D and even though he shoots a respectable 3point percentage in the postseason, teams are still content to sag off him to collapse on Lebron so he ruins our spacing. There are good reasons for wanting to look elsewhere

Wade is not what he once was, but I'd easily rather have him than Shump.

Meh, if he played 60 we would be fine. The games Lebron sits would be the games Wade could fill it up. Otherwise, chill mode for the 82.

And he's a lazy as hell defender. Our team is overstocked on big names who don't add enough to that end of the floor. All signings going forward must be willing defenders for the sake of balance. Lebron can't continue to be used as a defensive anchor

This cannot be over stated. I don't know how we do it but it needs to happen.
