Nice to see us run train on JoePa and the Nittany Lions.
:uhh:
There's gotta be a better way to say that.
Nice to see us run train on JoePa and the Nittany Lions.
A team led by sophomores just went in to Happy Valley and squashed a veteran laden Penn State team.
I'm sure it had nothing to do with coaching....
I'm talking playcalling.
If you were impressed by the playcalling, I'm not going to bother continuing this. Give me a fucking break. It was AWFUL.
All that running on first down set up a backbreaking touchdown.
Can't find too much fault with it considering it worked.
24 points on a team averaging 9 per game.
Some people are never happy I guess....
Fuck Graham Zug. He seems like a bitch.
I overestimated Penn State. I admitted that already.
But Tressel did not win us this game. I wager this game would have been over a quarter ago had he not run, run, pass on 3rd and long, every single drive.
Just my opinion. I know it's shared by some. But this will make him look better and everyone will call him a genius again.
Except for recruiting every player in the game and coming up with the gameplan that beat the #11 team in their place...he did nothing....
The Buckeye defense nutted up as it has all season, but the offense finally performed (with a little special teams help, admittedly) enough to put a game away without having to rely on the defense stopping a game-winning drive by the opposing team.
It felt good not to have to be on pins and needles at the end.
I felt the defense controlled the line of scrimmage...pretty much the entire game...in dominant fashion. Penn State never got a run game going and their offense never looked to be in sync. I really don't think that their 7 points were even legit.
Oh. Now we're talking about his recruiting job.
Tressel is an excellent recruiter. Never said otherwise.
Then don't say "he did nothing to win this game". If it's his fault the offensive line couldn't block anyone and Pryor played crappy vs USC or Purdue, then he has to get some of the credit for them playing pretty well @ PSU.
Ok. He gets credit for recruiting the players.
Usually we don't talk about that when we talk about what won a game, though.
I also never blamed him for Pryor playing crappy or the O Line not blocking, so yeah, you might want to take that somewhere else.
I blame him for things that he has control over. That would be playcalling, sir, which had a part in losing us big games in the past. He didn't change it vs Penn state and we happened to win. It'd be wrong of me, a critic of his playcalling in the past, to suddenly jump on his nuts and bandwagon him simply because we won.
