Owners and players ratify new deal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In an ironic twist of fate, the newly formed Seattle Super Sonics stun the Western Conference and not only make the playoffs but eliminate the Warriors with KD in their first round matchup and KD jumps ship and signs with Seattle that offseason.

Expansion sounding like a real possibility.

Louisville, Pittsburgh, Omaha, Las Vegas, Vancouver and Mexico City are other candidates for a team.

Would that new team get the 1st pick in this coming draft? This draft is loaded with at least 2 franchise players.

I dont believe so. Just a pick at other teams players outside of the 8

Why the hell is Vancouver wanting another team? They failed miserably with the Grizzlies. They don't need another chance.

They want one, just won't get one lol.

Vancouver was such a shit show & was horrible at evaluating talent. Coupled with the fact, NBA players don't want to live in Canada....they couldnt make it. IMO adding a second wouldn't work. I find it hard to believe more than 20 NBA players worth a damn would want to be in Canada, and of those players almost none are available or already in Toronto.

Charlotte was assigned #4, but traded #4 & #33 for #2. So I would assume a team would be placed at #4 & #5 is two teams were introduced.

Mexico City will never happen.

Id rank open markets as
Seattle

Las Vegas
Kansas City
Pittsburgh (only because their city is passionate about sports)

Omaha is a joke, Mexico City is far worse than Toronto (which has problems luring players), & Louisville may be too much of a risk being that it is basically a large college city.

If you're starting a new Franchise I'm not sure why you'd want any of those guys, honestly.
I think both McRae & Jefferson could be taken pretty easily. McRae is young with upside and Jefferson is a solid veteran presence. Expansion drafts are basically place holders for bodies for a year or 2. Their goal isn't to be competitive.

Richard Jefferson would instantly retire in this scenario so picking him would be a waste.

McRae wouldn't be a bad choice.

He would, but it doesn't mean a team wouldn't take him lol.

Jesus, please bring the Super Sonics back to Seattle. I don't want to have to drive to Portland every year to see one game. God, last year was so depressing. Drove 5 hours to watch the Cavs play their worst game of the season aagainst Portland.

I think Pittsburgh would be a good selection for an Eastern conference team.

I am firmly against expansion. I want Seattle to have a team as much as anybody, but the NBA's talent pool (especially of stars) is diluted enough as it is, and you will have an overall worse product by adding two more teams to the mix.

I can't imagine the owners would be for this either, unless the additional revenue from adding two more teams is that great.

I think league parity should be the paramount issue for the next CBA. Having two teams at the top kind of sucks. The East probably won't look like this forever, maybe a few more years at the most of LeBron being able to carry a team through a Finals (and Kyrie). But with the West; nobody is beating Golden State if they keep their core guys together. So you're just going to keep seeing Cavs-Warriors year after year.
