I truly don't know where to begin with this team. How about we start with Lerner. I do not subscribe to the blame the owner mantra that a lot of fans (and media) have yelped. But it is painfully obvious that he has no business owning an NFL franchise. I don't blame him for this, for he was essentially forced into this position.

He hired Butch Davis, who was a very good coach but an ego maniac who just had to bypass his scouts and pick who he wanted. Butch quit, then he hired Romeo before he hired a GM. This is highly unusual, considering it's the GM who should have complete control over the staff and drafting players. I know the Al Davis', Dan Snyders and Jerry Jones' of the world do this, but that isn't Lerners personality.

Onto RAC. A team tends to take on the attitude of its head coach and coaching staff. This is very apparent with the Browns. Lackadaisical attitude has plagued them 3 out of the past 4 years, with last year being an aberration. The players have no focus, play sloppy, and are always ill-prepared for every game. This is a direct reflection on the coaching staff, headed by RAC. But the players haven't been playing well either and injuries have cemented this season as a waste.

In comes Savage, the man who drafts these players. Yes, Savage has a keen eye for talent (at times) and has made some great trades (Shaun Rodgers) but he's also had a ton of misses and costly trades/signings. Trading a 2nd for Corey Williams, signing Donte Stallworth when he has the same genes as Tracy McGrady, drafting LB's who have no business playing in a 3-4 (less D'Q), providing secondary depth to the names of Terry Cousin and Travis Daniels. I don't blame him for re-signing DA. As you can see, you need depth at the QB position. I think DA will be a good QB when it's all said and done, but he needs to go to a dome, probably Minny. Now, it's not his fault RAC isn't playing Harrison more (who seems to have Lee Suggs' genes) Bell, Rucker, or Alex Hall, but he is right up there as far as blame is concerned.

So, is it coaching?

When you lose your starting RG, your #2 WR, your #3 WR, Braylon becoming a headcase, Winslow missing 5 games, your pro-bowl LT regressing, your pro-bowl QB regressing, your starting RB hitting the wall harder than Pamela Anderson, your entire right side of the line playing like crap, your wonder kid QB gong down for the season, and are down to your 3rd QB named Ken ****ing Dorsey, you may have some problems.

It's a 4-pronged issue. Lerner does the hiring, Phil drafts the players, RAC coaches the players up, and the players are suppose to perform. It's a cycle that, when done improperly, you get a shit storm that gets out of control. However, a GM emailing a fan, "**** You - Root for Buffalo", lying about a supposed text that got leaked, and a coach who has no clue how to handle the sidelines is something nobody could predict.

Bottom line, I truly feel this team has the talent to compete. EVERY single player, less DQ, Wright, and McDonald have regressed. Immensely. That falls on the coaching. Again, it doesn't help that we're without a ton of players, but these issues manifested themselves before season even began.

One thing that surprised me was an announcer saying that the players support Romeo Crennel and want him to stay. I am assuming that this is was a favor by the media to the Browns, and I do not believe it. We don't really seem to be playing all that hard and look unprepared. I am going to give RAC the blame first and foremost, but we cannot honestly be expected to win any games from here on out with our QB situation. The O can't stay on the field, and the defense either isn't good enough (v. eagles) or gasses since they play so damn much. This year is hopeless and would probably be that way no matter what coach we had with Dorsey starting.
