Parker, Cavs agree to deal (Inked - pg. 83)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just wonder what Kleiza's role would be if we managed to sign him. I'd personally start him at the 4 no questions asked. Not a fan of Andy next to LeBron and Shaq. I think Kleiza could be near perfect offensively starting next to Shaq. Defensively he'd need some time with Coach Brown though.

I'd start him as well. He's a bit short for a PF but he has bulk/strength, don't see him getting beasted down low at least.

Impressive kid, presented himself well, and he seems like he realizes what he came here to do and thats win a championship. Excited to have him.

Ferry and Mike were too busy to introduce a new player. Show some respect

Seems to have a very good personality which is always appreciated.

He understands that he will play off Lebron, Shaq and Mo and has no problem coming off the bench (though I would want him starting when we play teams like the Magic, Lakers, Portland, etc...).

A very good signing by Ferry and the front office.

Anthony Parker -- seems like a typical Ferry free agent signing type guy.

Good character players, shows a love for the game, and tends to have good humor. Seems like a perfect fit here in cleveland --

loves how he doesnt care if he is gonna start or come off the bench.

Seems like a great guy, I like how he knows his role on the team, I dont think Ariza would have liked that role, but I think Parker is a perfect fit.

Why in the world would the Pistons go after Linas Kleiza, a swing forward, when they already have one in Tayshaun Prince, just signed one in Charlie Villanueva and just drafted 3 in DaJuan Summers, Austin Daye and Jonas Jerebko? It doesn't make any sense... The Pistons are going for a big man, no doubt..

As far as Denver matching, I really can't see that.. Kleiza, IIRC, was in the doghouse with George Karl last year and with Renaldo Balkman, Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin locked up at the forward and now getting Walter Sharpe, the Nuggets are decent at forward and don't really need a guy like Kleiza locked up long-term..

If we were to offer Kleiza a deal around 4-years, $18 million, I really can't see Denver matching..

I really want Kleiza over any other guy out there but the only problem is offering Kleiza a contract will put our cap on freeze for a week..

I know, right? We won't have that money available for studs like Walter Hermann, Steve Novak, Ike Diogu....

The only ramifications are that we would be offering Klieza a contract before Matt Barnes. Barnes appears to be courted by other teams, such as the Celtics, Magic... So if we commit to Linas, then he'll probably go somewhere else not being the first choice...

That said, 18 mil is a bit much, it's probably more we can offer (that is what Brandon Bass got in Orlando, which reportedly was more that what we could offer him). Gotta knock down a few million to ensure we got the space for the signing. Denver still shouldn't match as there isn't much room in their rotation for him.

Anthony Parker... at the very least, you'll be a great mentor to Danny Green! Here's to hoping you won't turn out like this guy:

And if you do, well, everyone can blame me.

This is a cool forum and all ... a nice place to gather information when u don't have time to surf on your own.

... but to me the most annoying and dreadful thing is these ridiculously long threads that are so non-user friendly.

Of course some of you obviously prefer it that way... I acknowledge...

I have bit my tong for a while, but am feeling spontaneous.. not trying trying to be offensive, but rather stating a point.

Surfing through u a seven page thread is much easier than surfing through a 77 page thread or longer

Just a little constructive criticism
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels that way.

peace,
