I'm pretty sure full functionality of this site is being limited to upper echelon members only at this time to limit server issues. Sorry Immadog, Lakers fans don't make that list

But in all reality, the site is under a lot of stress......that's the reason for all the hiccups.

Well, things aren't working so good in here; that's for sure. Each time there is a game, it's hit or miss on whether you can access the forums. Couple of things in play:

1. Server space and allotted resources are way too small for the numbers of members in here, and the ever growing connections.

2. vBulletin is being manually limited to a certain number of connections. When that number is reached you get the dreaded 'server too busy' message within the software. This is a direct relationship because of #1 above.

3. Need more server space and more allotted gigs and ram, etc.

I'm confident that Glen and friends will resolve things real soon.

Glock is probably on the right track. For all we know, there could be an entire secret section of the board for classified inside info that some of us aren't invited into.

I dunno, that sounds pretty stupid now that I think about it.

Thats not stupid at all, because that is how it works in this forums. Ppl have a need to feel "elite" or "special" so they make this underground sections where only few selected can have an access. Sad but true. Soon it will become invited members only type of stuff and this forum is abandoned or left to be a meaningless place without real content. Just us outsiders speculating on things and arguing about LeBron vs. Kobe etc.

Of course there is. There are probably two or three separate places that a regular joe member cannot access.

1. A private place where only certain members can access to discuss more sensitive issues.
2. A private place where only "super mods or administrators" can talk among themselves... regular mods are not a part of this.
3. A private place where both mods and admins can access to discuss things.
4. Even a place where posts or threads are moved into so that they can be discussed further; like banning a member or not, etc.

You can set up as many private forums as you wish in here. vBulletin is an extremely powerful piece of software that you can do most anything you want with. Heck; you can even have a place where only members who donate can access.

None of that is why we cannot get in here from time to time. See my prior post...
