The web site is running in a lite model; The arcade , search function Avatars for the most part and signatures have been disabled. They are working on trying to move the server to a better provider currently before the dead line if possible. They had some database issues earlier this month that have not helped.

The best thing you can do if you want to help is donate. The more they have the better server and network they can afford.

Remember the trade deadline is the absolute worst time of the year for the stress on this site and the server it sits on. This is a fan site owned an ran by fans so they operate on a limited budget and are doing the very best they can, please don't be an ass or a complainer it will not help and will just make things worse.

This is a great source and community make it better by being part of the answer and not the problem.

Thats not stupid at all, because that is how it works in this forums. Ppl have a need to feel "elite" or "special" so they make this underground sections where only few selected can have an access. Sad but true. Soon it will become invited members only type of stuff and this forum is abandoned or left to be a meaningless place without real content. Just us outsiders speculating on things and arguing about LeBron vs. Kobe etc.

Pretty shallow of you, but I will entertain you. There have been mod forums since day one, they have been private and all of the "insiders" have access. This has never stopped the flow of information or the details from making the main board. The mods on this site are more active than most forums.

Ask yourself this, why would W&G, Maximus even join these forums at all? They all have the inside track at this point through different means, Max and W&G are hands on with the Cavs yet they come here and keep the masses updated where they can. They do this because they are FANS just like you and me.

The quaity of posters on these boards is absolutly top notch. I find it hard to imagine it becoming anything like you posted.

I can assure you that when the site goes down, everyone is affected. Only the sysadmin folks are able to login through back-end channels at those moments to fix things. At this point, some server-intensive features have been turned off.

The big issue here is a planned server switch that has not yet gone through yet, but we are doing our best to expedite it. As mentioned above, RCF is run by volunteers/fans and with the help of user donations. We know about the current server stress and are treating with the highest priority.

Cracks me up how people whine severely about a service that is offered to them for free, and done so by volunteers who make zero money off this site. :chuckles: As if those at RCF owe it to the public to keep this site running. Ha.
