I think we will leave this thread open through tonight to let as many people as possible to comment and give their ideas.

Then we'll gather what seems to the consensus of each issue: moderator(s), rules, standards etc., maybe an advisory council, and put them in a package and submit them to Ben.

Can you elaborate? What does the white list buy you? I understand the Black list (ban list), but not sure on the entry level filter.

In the very short term participation may be limited while the moderator(s) are busy getting everything underway, but I imagine in the long run anyone with at least a modest posting record (>100 posts?) in the regular forum and no history of major rule violations could join with no questions asked. The invite-only would just be to prevent the use of alts, and to keep out randos like that skyscraper guy who would derail the forum.

Is this approximately what other people had in mind?

I think he's saying there are people we can reasonably say shouldn't be in them and I would potentially agree

It's been said that this thread isn't the place to rehash old grievances, so it'd make since if past incidents didn't have an impact on people initially being allowed to join.

If anything on that front, tie it to S34 membership required. Kills ghost accounts and means ya paid something to the site to be worth the PITA we all are.

I'm happy to give honest opinions on some council. I'm happy not too. Whatever is needed. I'm by no means middle of the road but I'd be happy to call out bullshit and baiting for what it is, even if it's an opinion or stance I agree with.

Interested to see what Ben thinks of all this. Still unsure it works, but we've come this far. Might as well give it a shot.

Agreed man, everyone should "etch-a-sketch". Shake that bitch and poof, like it never happened. It'll sort it self out real fast if someone is coming in w/ old baggage.
