Preseason game #1 Cavs 93 Celtics 109

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i really had my high hopes for shannon and gibson, well shannon was ok at best i guess, but gibson surprised me alot, he deffinetaly should not go to the D-league, and also one more thing, rondo is a beast

Okay, I apologize... Z was decent.. Keep in mind though, I hate Gooden as well, however, I came away very impressed with him, and said as much...

You're right. I do have to give you credit on that.

He was good wasn't he? If he continues to "play like AV" on the offensive end (i.e. roll to the basket, flash to the middle, etc.) with his skill set, he's gonna be a beast. I was even more surprised that he did something after the initial first quarter flurry. Usually has 10/8 in the first quarter and ends with 10/9.

Larry playing like he did in Washington and Gooden bringing it like that makes us Title contenders.

Do we even have to dress 12????

Why is everyone saying LH played like washington LH? Only thing different I saw from him tonight was he actually made his jumpers

I just mean a "healthy" Larry. Making things happening on both ends.

Gibson may be the best all-around point guard on this team but may not have the experience to lead a contending team.
I liked him at Texas and thought the Cavs got great value for where they picked him.

Brown never impressed me in college but he could evolve into a solid role player if he can devlop a consistent jumper.

On the bad side Luke Jackson will be out of the league in 3 years.
A player who can't get to the hole and finish, can't consistently make open shots, or be a defensive presence just won't be around long.

Well for anyone that cares.

Good signs from the front line. Gooden was much better than I expected and Marshall was a beast. Z was very smooth. AV was rusty but still energetic and Pollard was exactly as advertised. I am beginning to believe the hype about us having one of the best front lines in basketball.

This game really didn't say a lot about James. He is fantastic, but we did not get new from him..

In the back court, the news was mixed. Rookies did well and probably outplayed the veterans. Hughes was rusty, but still productive, looking a little like a point with the 3 assists. Give him a month and lets see what happens. Wesley wasn't terrible, but was not magic either. No read on Jones really.

The Three Stooges, Ira, Luke and Pavs are just terrifying.

Some concerns:

As a team we went 1 for 12 from downtown, with Ira Newble leading the way. Neither Gibby nor Brown showed any promise there. It is still early, but if the this game is any indicator, both Brown and Gibson will be playing real minutes this year. Its not that they are Rondo good, but that our other guards (except Larry) are that bad. If Damon and Wesley aren't able to hit threes and make passes, why would we not play the two rookies (with Speed and Athleticism) instead.

Again opposing speedy guards absolutely torched us. While our young guns had a lot of steals, I don't think we are seeing real defense from them at this point. I wonder if the weakness is not in the defensive scheme there.

Cavs looked great in the first Qtr. Gooden was a beast. I likeed Shannon's dunk in the 2nd half, and Gibson looks great as well.

I thought Fred Mcleod was good, Im guessin AC misses Reghi a little, they had great chemistry. Maybe Fred and AC will develop a chemistry over time. AT least Fred seems to have a sense of humor, solid voice. The new PA guy was allright too, at least not the obnoxious Ronnie Duncan. And the Cavalier Girls are stil hot!

Only caught the 2nd half although I taped the 1st but haven't watched yet.
What I did see was pretty ugly. Only the 1st preseason game but still appeared to have the same offensive problems with too much standing around. There were new players who haven't played together out there so I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Brown and Gibson did make some mistakes but did show nice talent. They need to be developed quickly and be prepared to play meaningful minutes. Both showed they are capable of doing things that Snow and Jones either can't do or no longer can do at their current age. Cavs G's still getting burned by quick opposing G's and Brown and Gibson could help there also.

Cavs key players better stay healthy are they could be in some trouble. The bench didn't look too hot tonight.

The Three Stooges, Ira, Luke and Pavs are just terrifying.

ROFL. One question why the hell are we still experimenting with the Jones/Snow backcourt: we already know from half of last season that ain't workin and both are now a year older.

I was tempted to rinse my eyes out with bleach when we had a..

Snow
Jones
Wesley

trio on the floor for 10 minutes.. D'OH!

I agree with the guy who said Rondo is a beast. He looked great out there, unlike Sebastian "Where the hell am I going?" Telflaire. Our guys looked alright, nothing too unexpected.
