Maccabi story

Maccabi Tel Aviv is a long way from home, but it will have fans tonight at Quicken Loans Arena. The Jewish community has purchased large numbers of tickets. One of the strongest teams in the Euroleague, Maccabi beat the Toronto Raptors in Toronto last October. But it has lost two superstars, Anthony Parker (Raptors) and Saraunas Jasikevicius (Pacers) to the NBA. The team has lost all three games to NBA teams on the current tour.

``I don't know anything about them,'' LeBron James said. ``It is just another preseason game we'll prepare the same way for it.''

So, James isn't impressed, OK. Some of the Maccabi players aren't impressed with him either. ``For me, LeBron is just another great player,'' Maccabi's Derrick Sharp told Israeli media. ``I played against Anthony Parker numerous times during practices and I don't see any differences.''

Anthony Parker in LeBron's class?? sheesh...lucky he's not with Maccabi no more, Bron would tear him up if he took this game serious...

Maybe he means he is so incapable of handling high quality players that it doesn't seem any different to him. If a guy is a lot better than you, it really doesn't matter how much better he is. A player that is hundred times better than you would handle you the same way if he was 2 hundred times better than you.

He did call him a great player as well.

Last I checked it was Cleveland playing Maccabi, not Team USA.

about Sharp and Parker.. Parker is one of the best players in Europe ever..
Parker is mentioned in Europe with names like Dominique Wilkins and Bob McAdoo..
Parker is a living legend in Europe.. he won 3 European championships.. he was the MVP twice..
i think he is very underrataed among the nba coaches and scouts.
well.. now he's got a 15 milion dollar contract with the raptors..
you will see Parker's skills during the season..
now Sharp is one of the best defenders in europe
so don't underestimate him..
i'm not saying that LeBron is not better than Parker.. he is..
but not like you said it


another thing about Maccabi's Tal Burstein.. he is recovering from a broken knee injury.. he is not gonna play tonight..

and a question.. the game tonight will be televised in the U.S.?
