When I bought a monitored security system, I didn't realize EVERYBODY required you to purchase a 36 month contract or longer. You're responsible for the payments if you bail early. We're moving and don't need the system any longer, so it's either re-assign the contract (which is completely legal and suggested by the company) or eat the $1,000.

We'll be selling our house within the next 60 days most likely. In the case that the buyer does not have an interest in a security system, I'm looking at re-assigning the $39.95 a month contract with equipment.

The biggest benefit of taking this over is that you will not be required to sign a 36 month contract with the company, which is a terrible idea if you're going to move. I can re-assign the contract to you and you are provided the same $39.95/month security monitoring equipment that I am.

Please only respond if you actually want to purchase...or bust my balls for whatever reason. That's less desirable, but still certainly welcome.

From what I've heard, these types of systems are on the upswing. I'd suggest that whoever buys this waits patiently for the 24 month contract to run out.

Good question and my first thought for sure.

We actually just five minutes ago got a cash offer for $2k over what we owe on the house, which is a no-brainer to accept. Thing is, it's an investor and I'm doubting they'll have any interest in a security system.

Oddly enough...the fucking house just sold. Two days on the market and we got $2,500 over what we owe and $7,000 above what the highest most recent house in the neighborhood sold for. Signed the papers a few minutes ago. The new owners will be getting the security at cost.

Who needs that shit? I already have a "Protected by ADT" sign that I took off a foreclosed houses' yard a long time ago. NEVER HAD A BREAK IN.

In the meantime...we're living in one of the nicest golf course communities in central Florida in my in-law's vacation home til next spring.
