Question for the trade gurus...(Joe Smith related)

I was asked this question earlier in the day and I had no idea.. I know we couldn't have traded for Joe Smith since we traded him to the Thunder-- however, if Joe Smith was traded say like back in mid December to the Hornets from the Thunder, would we have been able to trade for him at the deadline since he was traded again after we traded him--- or, would that not matter and the only way we could have still obtained him was only via a buyout ??

Pretty sure we can't trade for him because WE traded him, doesn't matter if he got traded 20 times after he left the Cavs.

i think deethree is right. have to wait a full year before he can be traded back.

Yes we would also have to wait 30 days if he is bought out too since he was traded during the 2008-2009 season.

Only way we can obtain him is via buyout, even with the new trade.

What if we sent NOH a guy like Wright or DJ, and have them buy out Smith as a favor? I see Hilton/Wilcox/West getting much of the time at C/PF.
