You’re not the decider of culture. I listen to rap and I live in that culture.

Back off. Discussing whether rap culture negatively effects black communities is relevant as it mirrors what is happening in the inner cities of America much like country music mirrors life outside inner cities.

If you are offended, you may exit the thread.

He never pretended to be the decider of culture.

You, however, showed up from the shadows again to take the quickest, laziest jab at black people. Again.

I think there is some good within the bad.

I don't exactly like the argument that people are now taking issue with but to be fair no one has addressed it. If someone has a question, maybe just answer it and it won't spin into pages of this.

Can I openly attack classic rock and say that white people made a whole generation drug users?

That would be really lazy, right?

I would have made that argument to that person. Know what I mean?

We're pages deep and that's the first time it's come close to being addressed.

In any event, I wouldn't say what you just said was racist. Now that it's put this way, I think it's pretty silly to say it is.

It did create a generation of drug users.

That’s just a fact.
And this post shows that Kyrie isn't just dog whistling racism.

He believes the same thing regardless of the color of the skin of the person in question. That's just pretty fair, whether you agree with him or not.

The laziest thing one can do is take serious subject matter and say it cannot be talked about because it’s their culture.

People are DYING.

I think this thread is salvageable. We just have to do a better job of policing ourselves and thinking about how others might take a post before we post it in here.

This place is going downhill posts. Since 2005!

Just an update guys. I told my lady about my bit last night when we went to get burgers for our dogs.

Here’s her response:

“So you’re a Chinaman now?”

Musical styles get mocked all the time. Mocking country music, and the stereotypical undereducated white fans of country music, seems quite trendy in some circles. Or at least, it doesn't seem to generate much outrage.

I don't like either rap or country.

Does that mean I'm Asian? :conf (11):

My favorite rapper is white and my favorite country singer is black. What does that make me?
