RCF Official Fantasy Hoops 2009-10

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fellas, left a message on Yahoo.

Missed the draft and am open to some deals.

Good draft that moved pretty quickly.

It actually wasn't great to get the 1st pick in a bigger league since you have to wait forever (30 picks) to get a chance to pick again in each round. Those of us picking at the ends of the rounds had a huge gap between picks.

I learned that last year when I got the first pick, and was more than happy to stick with the 8/9th picks every round.

This was my first time getting the last pick in the round and I actually preferred it. Moreso because of the value one can get by starting off the next round, rather than the current round.

Picking consecutive guys allows you to really maximize value.

I simply experimented with that in a Mock Draft. You didn't have to wait for the big league itself to figure that out ;).

My laptop was giving me issues last night - got who I wanted because of the queue, but would have had my pick in within 10 seconds. My fan started running, and my entire browser would freeze and refresh - this process took about 3 minutes, and would occur when my pick came up. Very frustrating, but was able to deal with it. Missed a lot of the chat, etc. Felt bad if you guys had to suffer through 90 seconds while I was punching my table...

Don't worry about it. I was pushing the last 5 seconds with at least 10 of my picks.

Still don't know how the matchup are supposed to work, but I think I have my lineups set for the moment... I'll see as I go along.

Each week you go 1 on 1 with another team. Each stat catergory is worth 1 point. If you win 7 catergories (eg most points, steals, FG%, FT%, assists, 3pt made and turnovers) you get 7 points. The other points go to the other team in the other catergories. So you could go 7-5, or 11-1 or 2-9 or 6-6. Those points just add up as the season goes on.

Just take each point as being a W or L. So if you go 6-6 you are 0.500

Just make sure to set your lineups for each day so you don't lose possible games from your best players. Also keep your eye on the stat categories in your matchup each week so you can spot the stats where you might need a little more help in the following weeks.

Bench and Utility players? What's the difference? And the starting lineups positions that compare to just F or G?

Bench players are like IL players. They are not active. Utility players are positions you can place any player in. The F position is open to any player who plays small or power forward. The G spot :chuckles: is for point and shoot :chuckles: guards. Ok back to being serious.

So what the hell are "starting lineups" for then? Just as a way to organize fantasy rosters?

To make sure everyone fields the same positions outside of utility spots. For instance, if there were just 8 general spots instead of PG, SG, SF, PF, and C, everyone would rush towards guards and athletic fowards, which are generally more attractive in fantasy. Centers are scarce as is, and only the top ones put up fantasy worthy numbers (not you, Dampier and Dalembert). This way, everyone has to have multiple point guard eligible and center eligible players on the squad in order to field a proper, successful lineup.

Have you ever played fantasy hoops before? :chuckles:

Nope. Never in my life.
