Round 1 Game 1 | Cavs vs Pacers | April 15, 2017 | 3:00 PM EST

I agree with your first sentence. Not sure about the second one (tho I hope it's right!)

FWIW I was not impressed today. I'm not exactly a fan of how Lue has managed this team of late but we'll see. I just think that when an underdog you have to take advantages of all opportunities and to have the final shot was a big miss. But the fact that the Cavs shot so well and could never put the Pacers away is disturbing.

Agree, for the most part...

53.8% from the field
51.9% from the line

The free throw shooting is a joke. I'm tired of the mental lapses from the line. At what point does this team really put this under the microscope and solve it because they choked away 5-6 games during the season with free throws. Every point is so precious in the playoffs. Lock these fuckers in the gym and make them practice.

I mean, he had quite a few points?

Possibly because he kept them in the game at times and made big plays?

I'm talking last play after the timeout obviously PG will be with the ball lance not having the ball in that situation makes him a 6th defender for Cleveland. Ellis would have forced Cleveland to stay at home let alone leaving a man to go double 30ft from the rim

Not the best game, but it's a win! Hopefully this was just first game playoff jitters.

@SanduskyCav, fuck off. You're on ignore. No need to continuously follow me around and disagree with my post.

Guy has become insufferable

This .

Lue's rotations seemed fine except for a few things.
- too much JR. Korver's presence alone created a ton of space.
- that lineup with Frye & Love is what opened the game backup.

Add in the fact the Pacers made alot of tough shots and you have the game we just played.

The Cavs didnt play that bad of a game. I thought the effort was there. I thought the PnR defense shore up after the first quarter.

The free throw debacle from 4 good to great FT shooters was annoying. I expected TT to struggle and LBJ to struggle but JR, Kyrie, Kev, and RJ to miss that many? Not a normal occurrence.

Also not a normal occurrence, Kyrie 11-27, 1-9 from three. That might be the worst shooting game he has the rest of the way. He did have some GREAT defensive plays in crunch time which was encouraging. He maybe could have been a step closer to George on that long 3, but he did pull up way further out than I expected as well, so chalk it up to a good shot and just be a little faster next time.

George will not be 6-8 from 3 every game either. He was amazing tonight. He was at the absolute top of his game. I thought we competed against him all night too, he was just a great player being great.

I'd like to see some tweaks to our early fourth quarter offense and rotations. We shouldn't have been able to finish the game with control after we went up 12. A lot of it was just missing shots though.

Good strategy on the final possession defensively. Lue wasn't amazing tonight but he did draw up some good stuff on both ends in crunch time.

I thought it was overall a decent game. Actually a bit better than I expected, with the way we've been playing as of late.

Free throw shooting and defense has to improve, obviously, but I saw some promising things. I feel like they'll hopefully just continue to improve here. It's a start.

Every team would rather be us than the Raptors. Including the Raptors.

Gotta get Korver more minutes, and gotta set my physical screens for him.

He is the not-so-secret weapon. He needs to be seeing ten shots a game.

I wouldn't say we won it but survived it. The team started out looking motivated and they hustled but then comes the fourth and the regular season woes surfaced. So many opportunities to essentially ice the outcome and they blew it. The defense was average and then it laxed as time went on, that should be the complete opposite. Lucky to win it with the horrible free throw shooting and it's ironic defense won the game. With all the question marks still left unanswered these are the playoffs and one team has to win. Thank god it was Cleveland.

our offensive sets are too predictable when it comes to Korver, there's like 1 or 2 plays that we run for him where he tries to come off a screen at the top of the key, we just gotta be more creative maybe run some double action that gets him open in the corners with an option for a backdoor cut if they play for the 3 way too much, stuff like that.

Just gotta be more creative can't always run the same play for him its just to easy to defend when teams lock in on you in the playoffs.
