Round 1 Game 2 | Cavs vs Pacers | April 18, 2018 | 6:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rumor has it that instead of going with his Game 1 starting lineup of:

PG - George Hill
SG - Rodney Hood
SF - LeBron James
PF - Jeff Green
C - Kevin Love

... he's going to really mix things up in Game 2 and go with a starting lineup of:

PG - LeBron James
SG - George Hill
SF - Rodney Hood
PF - Kevin Love
C - Jeff Green

Bold.

PG Jeff Green
SG Jeff Green
SF Jeff Green
PF Jeff Green
C Jeff Green

Bolder.

15 minutes to go and the arena is maybe half seated.

Yea that's what I'm saying... with Young setting the screen up top for Oladipo you can put all your attention on Oladipo and have the big help out (either with a hedge or a trap). Force the ball out of his hands and into Young's downhill in a 4-on-3 situation. Will take our chances with LBJ being one of the 3. I just presumed that Young will be able to make the correct decision to make a play, often times being the kick out to the corner 3 point shooter - but he may not be able to do that I'm not sure.

4 on 3 situation sounds bad, but when you put guys like Young into that sort of scenario that they're not used to you can get quality results. And LeBron has the ability to just spook the everliving shit out of guys when he forces them into an instant decision.

Got you.

Anyways, Young is a terrible Spot Up player and a terrible Catch and shoot player. He can't shoot, but what he can do is drive to the basket @ Spot Up and be efficient at it.(92th Percentile)

So, with his small lineup we don't have anyone to contest him inside and probably need to overhelp in order to contain penetration...in that case, I hope we are smart enough to have Lebron help off of Turner(Also not a good Spot Up and Catch and shoot player from 3) on the wing, and contest Young at the rim(Hopefully he is willing to do so) instead of leaving Bojan from the corner.

Back in business, boys.

Floor spacing to a maximum tonight, Green in the backup role as well.

The key is his passing on the move. LeBron can force the ball out of his hands. No idea how much of a floater he has, but that's a factor also. I do think though that LeBron is good enough in that position to make things tough.

If Oladipo and Young run a P&R I would expect Bojan to be in the corner, Collison in the opposite corner (or possibly on one of the wings - though that would be a closer location for one of the trapping players to recover to) , and Turner in the dunker's spot. So LeBron wouldn't be helping all the way from the corner.

If he struggles in that instance, I'd expect Pacers to counter with Sabonis who is very good at making quick reads in odd-man situations.

Time to start JR Smith after he was one of the worst starters in the history of the NBA the entire season and was proving to flourish in a bench role.

Lue is really a fuck. It's unbelievable.

In this case... would you rather have JR or Jeff Green start on Oladipo?

I know there's other options, but this lineup isn't the worst they could throw out there.

Cedi Osman.

But to answer your question, I'd honestly rather start Jeff Green and just use him the way he is meant to be used instead of having him guard post players and camp at the three point line. Jeff Green is a solid player with a definite role, and if our coaching staff wasn't so inept, he could be a postseason starting caliber player for us.

Here's hoping Smith is up to the starting task and doesn't fade away like he has done all season long when he gets the start.

Good for Lue. I'm so freaking nervous for this one. Sure hope we are hitting and playing D.

Going to need more than nine points out of K-Love tonight.

The good thing about starting an elite shooting trio of Hill/Korver/Smith, is that LeBron will have plenty of options on drive-kickouts, as will Love if we get him some post touches.

Or just throw Korver and Love in the corners, Hill and Smith on the wings, and let LBJ go to work on the paint. If they collapse, LBJ's court vision is so elite that he'll find the guy who is open.

Just have to hope and pray that JR Smith doesn't cave since he's starting again.
