What you're saying doesn't make sense. Of course nobody was expecting him to run out of bounds and throw the ball in the air with time on the clock. Something that out of the norm should have been spotted immediately. You're not really going to try and defend those refs and claim everyone else Rutgers apologists???

The refs blew so many calls late in that game. I mean something was up just the way the refs hurried off the court.

What really gets me is what the hell was that kid with the ball doing. Protect the ball and hit you free throws son. The kid traveled, went out of bounds, and threw the ball out of bounds all in a matter of what 0.4 seconds? I just want to know what he was trying to do/thinking

Similar thing happened in the B12 Tourney in 2003, only the refs knew what they were doing.

The announcers said during the WVU game that the refs were quoted with saying that they "didn't want to penalize the kid for being too ecstatic when he thought the game was over."

Apparently there is a difference between a player acting ecstatic when he thinks the game is over, and a cheerleader acting ecstatic when the game is over:

If you watch the video again and watch the St. Johns bench you will see one of the assistant coaches realize something should have been called. As the ball gets thrown out of bounds he pulls his suit jacked over his head like he is just waiting to hear the whistle. He is the big guy in the black suit and blue shirt two from the edge of the scorers table. Right about the 0:35-0:36 mark
