Gomes has hit safely in 6 straight starts. He doesn't need to be silver slugger Gomes to be a useful player for us. It'd be nice to just get him back to a replacement level hitter.

Cody Allen has the same amount of strikeouts as Matt Harvey. In 20 less innings.

It's nice to see Gomes is taking walks and getting hits plus his arm is back so that should cause other teams to hesitate in the running game helping out our pitchers.

Really good series win. Managed to rough up a guy who had been dealing to start the year (McCullers), and managed to win a game in which we were 0-11 with RISP.

Being out in front during April, albeit a small lead, is a new concept to me. Crazy that I don't feel like this team is close to peaking right now, and we're already on a 93 win pace.
