Everyone sounds like a Tom Hamilton on this board. Speak ill of the tribe and you have betrayed Cleveland. I think Theo has a large ring on his finger for his efforts, while Shapiro is wrapped around his owner's fineger. Tom Hamilton is leading the tribe kool-aid drinking club, and it looks like a lot of people are in it.

Shapiro has done nothing to "screw over" any of us fans... when Jacobs and Hart left town Mark was the one left holding the bag for the new ownership. Things changed drastically payroll-wise and he was stuck in rebuild mode. He has done a great job getting quality talent for this team, especially given his limited budget every year from ownership. His true mark will be whether he can keep Hafner and to a lesser extent Sabathia wearing a Tribe uniform.

The team now has a great core and Shapiro is challenged every offseason with supplementing that talent with sensible FA acquisitions. Of course that is a great challenge with the budget but he did a fine job in 2005. The bullpen betrayed the team last year. It remains to be seen if it will be improved this year, but if it is this team will be very good.

There is no "Kool Aid" drinking in saying that we don't belong in the same comparison as Tampa, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh. Those are just facts. If you truly believe that we are on par with those franchises then I really can't take anything else you say very seriously.

Owners not spending money (thanks Bob Howry), being surpassed by other franchises in the same position, (Chicago, Detroit, shit even the cubs are spending money), and bullshit propositions (anyone remember the "Championship in 2005" campaign), I would say they are. I can't support anyone who would support that seriously.

EVERYONE CHILL OUT. Don't you realize that Cavaliersfan is just trying to get you riled up??? Well, he has gotten what he wanted. I think he's trying to say not that the Tribe sucks, but he is right that they have been spin doctors in the past. We love the Tribe, and will always cheer for them, but the management/ownership has lied to us in some ways and put less on the field then we would like to see. And you cannot say that they don't try to win over fans through trickeration.

Exhibit A: TROT NIXON!?!?!?!? THis guy is worthless, but it's a name that the fans know and they have seen him with the Red Sox. But he's old and he is not any good. But management thinks this will draw fans.
