Wow!
The Sixers are so desperate to dump Elton Brand's contract that they are willing to trade the 2nd overall pick to get a deal done. If I'm the Cavaliers, I would look at this one very closely. Brand had a bad couple of years in Phily, but he's certainly a serviceable player. In fact, he might instantly become the best PF on the team.
Certainly worth the prospect of adding Evan Turner as a running mate for LeBron James at least!

I would suspect, if this is true, that the Sixers are looking for a trade-down in the first round AND getting rid of Brand. Probably not a realistic possiblity for us.

if thats true, here is Ferry's chance. You get Turner on this team, or even Cousins and you have some legitimate young talent. (Not to mention Brand can play a little, obviously isn't worth his contract, but still)

West+Moon+Parker+Telfair for Brand and Evan Turner, Please.

This is not going to happen.

Just for the thought of it though, would we take Cousins over Turner considering we have no future center? (Assume LeBron stays)

I hope not. He screams "headcase."

But yeah I don't think this is going to happen.

ok, my excitement is gone now. no way does philly trade the #2 pick even if they are able to get rid of brand just to cut payroll. not going to happen.

I think you have to go with Turner. He's not the athlete that Scottie Pippen was, but he could be to LeBron what Pippen was to MJ. Cousins is a talent, but he carries more risk than Turner IMO.

If that's the case then i could see us trying to buy a pick and trading it in a deal like this. I just really hope this is true because this could be the break this team has been waiting for to actually get a very good young talent to pair with Lebron.

While this may be true, the Cavs could always buy a 1st round pick and package it in a deal with the 76ers. They could also get a third team involved to make it even more possible.

I don't see us trading for the pick, or even Brand for that matter. But there's always a possibility we can get involved..

If JJ Hickson is perceived as the would-be third best big man in this draft, behind Favors and Cousins, than we could certainly get involved.

The question is would we be willing to trade JJ for Brand and Turner? I would. Evan Turner is going to be an absolute stud and is NBA ready.

With Z/Shaq leaving, we could make room for Brand's contract.

Maybe we could look at a 3rd team that has a late first to trade to the 76ers to get this deal done.. Maybe like look at Denver or Memphis or someone. See if we could maybe send them a future first, and theyd send theyre 1st to philly and the rest is between us and philly.

But if we have to give up JJ to get the pick, do we get cousins..? IMO he's not worthy of the #2 pick. If we want cousins, maybe move down a little...

This (if true) is a deal you give up JJ for if you have to. There's probably some long athletic PF in some coach's doghouse who we could get for an expiring, and the idea of pairing Evan Turner with LeBron is absolutely terrifying. If he leaves after that deal, we'll know we did everything we could. It sounds like they don't even necessarily want young talent, so JJ might not have to be involved.

For the future, that's actually a pretty solid core. And in two years, Brand and Jamison become ridiculously huge expirings!

Philly willing to trade #2 (there's a catch)

The 76ers are willing to trade the 2nd pick (aka Evan Turner) IF a team is willing to take back Elton Brand. You know the deal... get it done Ferry!

A number of teams have already looked into the availability of the Philadelphia 76ers' No. 2 pick in the June 24 draft.

The asking price? Several sources said they were told that the Sixers want their trade partner to take Elton Brand off their hands. Good luck with that. With Brand set to earn $51 million over the course of the next three years, he's virtually impossible to trade.

As much as teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, for instance, love Evan Turner, I don't think they love him that much.

If we don't buy a high enough pick to entice Philly, would the Cavs be willing to take Brand if we can get Iggy? I'd prefer Dalembert but if Brand is what it takes to get Iggy I might be tempted to do it.
