So I saw this, came up:

(thanks to our own Michael here)

Dont troll RT @GreyGoose218 Speculation running Rampant that the Wolves might trade Derrick Williams and Luke Ridnour for Anderson Varejao.

He goes on to say (@GreyGoose218) that this was from Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500 based in Minnesota.

Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson
D-Will/Ridnour for someone. My guess w/ no inside info. is Varejao. RT @PhilipkAnderson: @DarrenWolfson The big move Kahn is talking about?

Just passing this along.....looks like just speculation. He goes on to say in other tweets about this (Wolfson does) as well.

That would actually make a whole lot of sense if we trade Thompson/Zeller for Bynum.

We would have to tell D-Will he is a 4 on this taem and not a 3. He will never be a good SF. He is meant at the 4. With that.. just throwing out a starting lineup.

PG - Kyrie
SG - Dion
SF - Gee
PF - D-Will
C - Bynum

That'd be a nice building young team.

Well thats rather interesting. You would have to think that would be a tough sell to Minny fans.

Would make a ton of sense either way. We'd be cashing in a soon to be 30-year-old PF for a 21-year-old combo forward who was the 2nd pick in the draft last year and could potentially be our future SF. If nothing else, he'd be a great 6th man coming in at SF or PF. This is a no brainer if Grant can make it happen. He didn't shoot the ball particularly well last year, but he shot a decent enough FT% and put per 36 numbers of 14.8 pts and 8 reb. I think he'd be a great fit with what we already have in place. Irving, Waiters, Williams, Thompson, Zeller, and Gee would be a helluva young core to build with.

Made this post in the Derrick Williams thread a little while back and thought it'd be relevant to add.

If we are going by this logic then why the hell wouldn't we make that trade? AV is a 6th man who's been forced into starting because we lacked any sort of depth at PF or C. He's 29 going on 30 and has had many problems with injuries during his career. Why wouldn't you trade that guy for a 21 year old combo forward (6th man) who was the #2 pick in the draft last year? At worst he's a really good 6th man who can come in and play the 3 or the 4. At best, he potentially gets in a better conditioning program, loses some weight, and becomes our starting SF.

I see very little downside to trading AV for a guy like Williams. It makes us a little worse in the short-term and we pick up potentially a huge piece for the future. Everyone wants to add another lottery pick, so why would you be against trading AV for the #2 pick in the draft last year?

At least the guy admits he is randomly mentioning varejao and that there is absolutely no validity to these. Much more honest than the reporters that made up the bynum rumors

One more thing. This would be a great move on Grant's part if in fact he still wants to angle for a Bynum trade (or any other trade for that matter). With this trade, he'd be splitting AV's salary between two guys, one of which is a young player with a lot of potential and the other is a solid vet guard who can shoot and pass. Williams is a much more attractive piece to Orlando than AV, and the Lakers have shown interest in Williams over the past year as well.

Derrick Williams is not, and never will be good. He can't beat people off the dribble, he can't create a shot at all, he's too small to defend PFs or play the PF.He doesn't have the quickness to play the 3. He couldn't even create in college, if you watch highlights of him all you see is him standing under the hoop wide open and catching the ball for a dunk or standing at the three wide open and hitting a three. Do not want him at all.

Where did you get all those trophies.

I dominate the arcade. :king:

I want nothing to do with Kahn. Let that franchise rot up there in Minnesota.

For the record I highly doubt this is true. It was actually made up during an episode of Mooheadradio earlier in the week by someone in the chat room who admitted he was lying about a source.

This is pretty ridiculous. Should be in the trade rumor forum..
