Hines Ward the Steelers best player is threatening to sit the whole year unless he gets a new deal. The Steelers are said he has to honor his contract and that they are in no position to offer him a new one, and that the sides have cut off negotiation. This would be great for the Browns since their WR core is already depleted with the loss of Burress.

I like the Steelers, but I would be alright with it if Ward sits out the year. We made him a fair offer, and he wanted more, so beit. The last couple years of any new Ward deal will be absolutely brutal to our cap.
And Burress sucked anyways, he was never the player he should have been. He barely played the 2nd half of last season as it was.

Ward is a probowler every year and Bettis when asked do you think he deserves a new deal he responded "What do you think? He is like the 40th paid Wide Receiver" He is making 1.8 million lol thats a fair offer? He isn't making even 1/4th of To's money, Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, or any others. He is 1 of the players always at the Pro Bowl and is like the 40th paid thats fair? haha this is my dream come true...ur best player receiver holding out, and you not being able to offer him more because your team is cap crippled for so long lol..

Ward has a case, and he should get a new contract. I agree 100% with him. He has performed for the Steelers, put up good stats year in and year out. Busts his butt, and they wont give him a new deal?

That's crap on the Steelers part.

Burress was and is a good WR, Steelers fans are full of crap and have a thorn up their butt because he left...talk about being bitter, dont knock the guy because he didnt come back. This time last year he was praised a top tier WR in the game and now he is a bum, hard to believe that happened over night.

But to the topic, the Steelers need to give this guy a new deal. Id pay him to have him in a Browns uni.

Ward has the body of a tightend speed of a WR and the hands of a WR too. He has no fear when he comes across the middle and gets up with a smile after getting drilled. I say we offer then Andre Davis or Northcutt and like a 5th rounder or something and we can give him a better deal..
