Super Bowl 2024 game thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

It was the best of drafts, it was the worst of drafts.

At #1 we took Myles Garrett. Then we reportedly wanted Mahomes with the 12th pick but KC jumped us to take him at 10. So we traded 12 to Houston who took . . . Deshaun Watson, whom we winded up trading 3 first round picks and more for several years later. Oh had we only traded up 3 spots to #9. Or, heck, just taken Watson then.

So its either UFC and NASCAR or Dancing with the stars. Dont get me wrong I like chick flicks and play the piano 4 a living {hello Elton and Billy) but thd last manly sport that isnt surrounded by a bunch of greasy hillbillies is linked to sensationalism

Heh. No chance, because we are perpetually screwed.

Australian. Rules. Football.

The good news: Mahomes is out of the league by now if the Browns had drafted him.

Unreal, what a game. Pretty sure my voice is shot and I have to take a red eye home tomorrow but beyond worth it. Now I just need to convince my wife to continue to let me go to games in the future :chuckle:

my hot take: if Browns took Watson then, the controversy never happens. Maybe years 2020-22 work out better for Cleveland. Even with Haslam as owner. the BS that was going on with the Texans gets swept under the rug.

Thank goodness that game is over (didn't watch) and that the Chiefs won. Purdy in "top QB" discussions would have lead to an NFL deep state move to make Brady 2.0. Meanwhile, Mahomes is enroute to eclipsing IMO. this dude's Devil Magic is off the charts (that muffed punt, THEN?). But that final drive is why you never give Mahomes a chance to win in big games.

Get better, AFC. The Browns at least on paper have the personnel to do so. This was the worst (offensive) version of the Chiefs I've seen with Mahomes there, but the best defensive version.

Maybe I’m just insanely optimistic about next season, but my biggest takeaway watching the game tonight was I felt like a healthy Browns team could’ve beat either one of the teams.

Injuries do tend to be the biggest separator for most playoff teams. We had some other issues against Houston, but the inability to consistently run the ball in the second half of the year finally showed up in the playoffs. Once Flacco started falling apart against the Texans we didn’t really have anything to turn to.

Browns have some work to do, but I don’t think we’re that far away despite what we saw in the playoffs this year.

The Browns traded back for Peppers, which was disappointing, but still got Njoku in that 1st round as well.

I will continue to stand/fight/die on the hill that Kyle Shannahan is the world's best offensive coordinator and that's it.

We're gonna need 2 scores at the end to beat these guys.
