Re: Tankapalooza - Only 2 left to lose!

Hasn't the team with the 4th best chance to win typically make the jump into the top 3 while the 3rd best has been most likely to fall outside of the top 3 in recent years? Like last year we had the 3rd best chance tied with New Orleans, they pick #1 and we pick #4... I say tank for 4 and get a better pick due to the lottery gods rewarding the 4th worst team.

Historically speaking (I know that doesn't count for anything), the team in 3rd going into the lottery has won the lottery as many times as any other slot (more if you count NO as tied for 3rd last year). The 4th worst team has won once. No, I'm not saying it's a predictor. Just commenting on what has happened in the past.

Whoa. That one was too close for comfort, LT. Too close for comfort.

Re: Tankapalooza - Only 2 left to lose!

Kyrie driving the tank well

Re: Tankapalooza - Only 2 left to lose!

Thankfully Kyrie is a bum.

Re: Tankapalooza - Only 2 left to lose!

Make it one left..

He had it in the palm of his hand the whole time. Used his supernatural abilities to guide Norris Cole's hand straight to the basketball on that last play.

Real question is what tanking glory awaits us in His final act, as Charlotte needs a loss to hang onto a share of the #1 seed in the lottery and the Cavs fight for a share of #3.

Re: Tankapalooza - Only 2 left to lose!

Rolling with Tank God right now since I pretty much earned it after these past few years and with my recent efforts.

You earned it, no doubt. Tonight's game was beyond legendary (in a bad way).

Re: Tankapalooza - Only 2 left to lose!

Money in the tank.

Although I'm glad it's almost over. Next year, right guys?

And where did I promise a new name? I don't remember that. All I remember is saying that I'll keep on rolling along with the tank mantra jokingly. I'm up for a name change though with a big-ass poll. We should make a new thread asking for suggestions. :chuckles:

Actually, you did post that you intended to have a name change sometime after all this tanking is finished. You said the name would in some way salute all the tanking that came before. In fact, I made a response post to yours where I suggested "Tank Plisskin" as an idea.

Re: Tankapalooza - Can the Cavs Lose Again?

Can we really lose to Charlotte to close out the tank? Would be an epic tank as 3rd is really the "best" we could finish all year as Orlando and Charlotte had 1 and 2 locked up before the season even started.

Re: Tankapalooza - Can the Cavs Lose Again?

Is it too greedy of a tanking mindset to want Phoenix to win tonight despite the fact that it will make Houston try against the Lakers Wednesday?

Nahhhhhh

Re: Tankapalooza - Can the Cavs Lose Again?

This tank needs to end. Even if the players and fans know what's up: the losing is getting to everybody.

Kyrie's body language sucks
Fans are talking like a bad return from an injury means we ignore the rest of his outstanding career so far and question him as the face of the franchise going forward.
If you take a step back remember the radio announcers pointed out that with a starting five of Dion, Zeller, Thompson, Irving, and Gee actually went 11-12. Add in losing the real motor of the franchise in AV and the fact we only got real quality bench players at the trade deadline shows that the base of the franchise is there if you can look past the litter of the battlefield.
  • Kyrie is an all-star and despite the crappy finish has put up numbers that 21 yo old just don't do
  • Dion since the all-star break looks like he has the potential to be a star
  • Tristan keeps getting better and better
  • Despite all the crap around them, with all the draft picks and cap space that's all that really matters. People can rightfully argue that we could have done better with our picks (, JV, drummond) but that doesn't me we didn't missed either: all three guys would if redrafted go exactly or right below where they drafted and that is HUGE. Three lottery picks that are playing like top 5 picks means we are right one track

More of this losing though and it could turn into one of those toxic rebuilds that franchises like Sac have been going thru. As a big supporter of the tank and also someone who has been drooling over Wiggins, I hope this is the last we see of these threads in a long time

#3 seed as of now. Gotta finish this right with a loss in Charlotte.
