The 2014 NFL Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So because Sherman talks shit he's a classless thug? Lol, people amaze me.

Richard Sherman is the man. Talks a lot, but more than backs it up on the field.

Hope the SeaHawks win the Super Bowl.

That shit was uncalled for. It's getting old, he tries to constantly remind us how wonderful he thinks he is. We get it. You're great. Just don't act like a little kid and people would give you more respect.

This guy made Skip Bayless look like a genius.

I like him as a player for sure but you can't say he isn't a douche.

Talking shit on the field is one thing, it's part of the game. But afterwards that's just not how it goes. It's almost an unwritten rule. I promise he will get chewed out for what he said, it's just unprofessional. I've always liked him, just thought he should've handled that interview differently. Just a bad reflection on him and the Seahawks. Management won't like that. But I am pulling for them in the Super Bowl for sure. Can't wait to see Sherman on Demaryius Thomas.

He was interviewed seconds after a huge play. Guy was in the heat of the moment. Note that after the interview with Erin Andrews, he was far more composed and calm during the trophy ceremony and with the FOX guys down on the field.

You guys must have limited knowledge on the Seahawks organization. Richard Sherman will not be chewed out and he shouldn't be. This is sports, stop acting like every athlete is going to be cookie cutter all the time. These guys but there all into their profession. How do you want him to act after he just came a step closer to living his ultimate dream?

He shouldn't be? Talking shit about an opposing teams player after a win makes him look bad and reflects badly on the organization. There's a difference between acting and just toning it down a little bit. He had an opportunity to talk about himself and his teams achievements but instead he talked shit about an opposing teams player. Made himself look like an idiot IMO. Why do you think there are PR people for every team? They want the players to look professional in interviews, not like arrogant assholes.

Was just going to say this... emotions were running high and Crabtree no doubt was talking trash right back. He's not exactly known as an innocent bystander. Like him or not, Sherman is one of the best corners in the game.

That being said, have fun trying to cover every single Denver receiver on the field come Superbowl Sunday.

I absolutely love Sherman and his interview. He is a damn good player, and he makes it interesting with his talking during (and after in this case) the game. He backs it up too. He can say whatever he wants. I'll be pulling for him and the Seahawks.

Being good doesn't mean you can say whatever you want. Sure he can back the shit he talks up but that is meant to stay on the field. Not in interviews when you're reflecting the team. Just seemed kinda selfish and a little too cocky. That's a time when you wanna praise the team for what they've done over the course of the season. Not talk shit about the guy you were covering and praise yourself. Just rubbed me the wrong way.

Degrees, people- degrees. Talking junk is one thing... braying like a jack ass in a live interview is another. That was braying, people. Guys talk junk in live interviews and don't get cut off by the booth. Erin definitely got a 'end this now END THIS NOW' in her ear before the 'OOOOK back to you guys!'

Sherman wasn't interviewed 'moments' after a big play. He had time to run over and slap Crabtree's ass (funny, but still idiotic). He had time to run off the field. He had time to do some shouting on the sidelines with teammates. He had to wait for the offense to kneel the ball twice. So this wasn't immediately afterward.

The guy who caught the ball- if it drops, SF gets 21 more seconds and 3 more shots at the end zone- wasn't screaming at Erin Andrews and getting cut off. Where was he at? Pete Carroll wasn't yelling at Harbaugh and groping his buttocks, he was giving a hug and a quiet 'no go F yourself' into his ear. Classy, the way you should do it.

Sherman? He just looked like a fool. Defend it if you want, but he looked like a fool. :chuckles:

Sherman talked trash, without cursing, without getting personal. It was all about the play on the field, and he answered the trash talk by Crabtree and Boldin.

He did absolutely nothing wrong, and I'd imagine any PR person has had far more cringe-worthy moments than that. I don't think Andrews was instructed to end the interview at all, in fact I'd imagine they were encouraged to speak with them further given Bradshaw seeking him out on the podium and them adding him to the post-game show on set.

If you're FOX, or CBS over the next two weeks, you want as much Richard Sherman as you can get. An intelligent, polarizing trash talker who will light up a quote sheet while talking solely about his play on the field and how he will back it up.

If he ever strays away from that, then you will have PR people talking to him to let him know to tone it down.
