Kelly had taken a role as Trump's babysitter to try and stop him from basically being himself, it seems. How long until Trump gets tired of the shadow this is casting on him?

I think you're underestimating Kelly, but we'll see.

It is a fine line to walk to be sure.

I am not saying it is right, but you are probably going to see a lot of articles coming out along the lines of "Kelly has to babysit Trump," "Kelly has to hold Trump's hand to get anything done," "Kelly is the real POTUS." Etc.

The Left will try to create a wedge there and they know exactly how to do it considering Trump's NPD.

I agree. Trump wants big dicks that wanna MAGA.

Kelly pulled his out and told Trump "get the ruler".

Trump is the weak persons idea of what strong leadership looks like.

And, as they say, "what a poor person's idea of what being a rich person is like."

Rich folk society have long accused him of having the worst type of nouveau riche tastes.

I agree completely -- that is exactly what is going on. Which if you think about it, is pretty sad. I think everyone would agree that Kelly is probably a positive influence on Trump. Trying to sabotage that relationship precisely because he is a positive influence is pretty reprehensible. But I think that is exactly what much of the press is trying to do.

I know I've been knob-gobbling on Kelly here, but I last worked with the guy nearly 30 years ago and he honestly made that strong an impression on me, and on the other guys with whom he worked. He's pretty...unique. We've discussed the relief of Colonel Dowdy on here, and I think that gives an insight into Kelly's focus on the mission above all else. It had to be very difficult for him personally to do that to a fellow senior officer, especially in the small social circle of the Marine Corps. But he was focused completely on the mission -- he did what he thought best for the organization as a whole regardless of his personal feelings. He's a selfless guy.

My point is that I think it unlikely that Trump will resent him. If Kelly leaves other than because he thinks his work is done and he wants some retirement, I think it is far more likely to be his dissatisfaction with something Trump did rather than the other way around.

Blue collar billionaire, or at least that's how I've heard him described. I agree that he doesn't fit in with the "rich", and I think that's why so many ordinary people see him as "one of them" in spite of his wealth.

Trying to pretend he's blue collar is...hysterical. I feel bad for the people who do, honestly.

Yeah that's not what anyone is saying but I wouldn't expect you to understand.

As someone who I currently bad for, I fully understand what you're trying to say.

People believe he understands their struggle and plight, especially as Christians who are under attack from political correctness (they're not) and accusations of being racist (when many are). The blue collar billionaire who talks straight (or barely comprehensible) and tells is like it is (in the warped minds of low educated voters).

Appreciate the snark, but there's no need to feel bad. I'm good with how things are going.

Donald Trump has been rich for his entire life. I'm under no illusions that he understands the plight, but at the very least he acknowledges it. That's more than any other candidate can say.

What on Earth ever gave you this impression, or that Trump actually understands people?
