This year's draft class looks to have the players that the Cavs needs. So many good players with the right attitude and work ethic, that accepts their roles. Personally, I would love this team to draft Jarret Jack. Such a solid PG that is so unselfish. He can also shoot, and is rapidly improving. What more, he has good to great defense. The Cavs could take him with the 13th pick, but unfortunately, they don't have any draft picks this year.

I am wondering, that now with the Z situation getting blurr, if the Cavs could do a sign and trade with Z to a team that wants him but can't sign due to being over the cap, and get some picks and some talent back. NY might come to mind. But the Cavs would have to take a big contract, too. Tim Thomas seems to be the best fit. His salary would also be off the books after next season.

If that scenario is far from being possible, then how about trading Sasha Pavlovic and Jiri Welsch? As what Jim Paxson have said, Luke Jackson is better than the other two, and they won't be seeing much time with LeBron there. Sasha has value, I don't know about Jiri.

If they could get a lottery pick for Drew Gooden, then I would also like that. I am also high on Tiago Splitter. A 7'0", 240 lbs Power Forward that is very athletic, and has a post game. He is also great at playing the Pick and Roll, according to the sources that I have red (draftcity.com). He is Brazilian, and could get along well with Anderson Varejao.

Man... I really wish we had a pick... How about you guys? What are your takes?

This drafts talent level rivals the nfl's this season. Not very good. No clear stand out players. This year, and next year there will be alot of point guards so i really don't care if we get a pick or not. What we really need is to add winning experience to our roster. We have too many old experienced players who can't play. What we need is 4, or 5 veterans who can contrivute, and not be liabilities on the court.

Right now our only good veterans are Snow, and tractor. Both see about 20 minutes on the floor. This off season will be dedicated to bringing in leadership with skills.

I would rather have another proven pg entering our roster next season to tell you the truth. As for having a talented rookie for next season, we already have that in Luke Jackson.

I'm not really about getting young, rising stars in the draft. What I want are those young players with a winning attitude that work hards for the team and would gladly accept the roles that would be given to them. Currently, we all know the attitude of this team... and it really looks bad.

And the Cavs do need a young Point Guard to groom, right? Then he is here, in this year's draft.

We need a young point to groom, but I'm not a big proponent of breaking the bank to get a pick this year just because of an influx of point guards. Next year there will be a crap load of points too, and we'll have both of our picks.

If we can trade Jiri, or some of our crap to get into the first round i'm all for it. Or if we can get into the top 10 to get a felton by trading goden i'm all for it. But, I don't want to have to give much away when they'll be alot of points next year as well.

I wouldnt mind trading into the draft to get a pg. I think we could bring in a vet pg but still draft a young one to groom behind that vet and snow. If we could trade Sasha for a first rounder and draft a guy like Jarret Jack I would be all for it.

I understand your views Red Cap, and I wouldn't mind having a young pg to groom neither. I love new comers and I root for them the most during the games. But, right now, I think a player like Antonio Daniels would be a better fit other than a rookie.

With LeBron limited with at least 2 more years until he is a FA, I would want to surround him with guys we have something to play for.

yea i really wanted the cavs to draft Sean May... boozer type player.. he wouldnt really fit the team, so maybe a guy like felton and jack we could get

but i also like the idea of getting an already proven pg to the team..

Infante, I believe the Cavs can get into the draft and still sign Antonio Daniels/Earl Watson or any PG they are targeting, and I'm also all up for it. With a PG depth chart of Eric Snow/Antonio Daniels/Jarret Jack, we will really be great at that position, and still having the cap space to sign and fill other needs.

I don't think Jarrett Jack has declared for the draft.

I can't see the Cavs being able to acquire a high pick. They might be able to get a low #1 and I'd only do that if one could be had for Welsch.
I don't get the feeling that the Cavs will be looking to acquire many more young players this offseason and would have a strong interest in getting another top 15 pick. They'll probably look to add PG help by getting a more experienced player through free agency or a trade.

I think we can get a high first round from Portland. Especially if they land around the #5 pick. They really need a shooting guard and it wouldnt make sense for them to get a pg. We could give them luke and sasha and they could either give us telfair, paul or felton.

Luke is also a hometown guy who is a fav there.

So our bench shooting next year would be Jiri Welsch? I have no problem trading one of the 2-3's, or even two if Jiri is one of them, but to give up both Luke and Sasha is horrible.

When we get our two guard.. how much time do you expect these guys to get off the bench? Joe Johsnon plays 39 minutes for the suns, bron plays 40 for us. Ira Newble will be more than capable in that role. Also you are under estimating these poinbt guards. All of those guys can provide offense off the bench as well as traylor.

If they would take welsch and jax or welch and sasha, then by all means go through with it but i think our bench will be fine either way.

We do have the luxury of moving 2 of our swingmen due to our "depth" there if we do get into the market and are successful at acquiring that Johnson / Redd / Allen / Hughes / Simmons player. The FA and James will likely be a resonably high minutesman, of which Newble will support one and our left over Jackson / Sasha / Jiri will man the other. One has to be moved, two may be a bit much. It only takes 1 injury and we would be very thin if we moved two of our white swingmen trio. Teams low in the first round like San Antonio / Sacramento generally are interested iin trading their picks for a more proven player to compliment there already settled roster. So Jiri would have some value to those teams.

i would love to get daniels.he plays solid D and can even get better cause his strength is a very nice size compared to other pg's.was i reading wrong on hoopshype or is tinsley a FA?
