What’s standard operating procedure with ACL damage/partial tear like this? Do they usually repair it anyway and would that require severing it?

Any chance it heals on its own, or is it just a matter of time before he tears it if they leave it alone and it’s weakened?

As I understand it, a partially torn ACL still needs to be repaired with surgery, at least in the case of an athlete looking to continue a career.

But in Chubb's case, it sounds like ACL might just be stretched and not partially torn. I guess we'll find out when he goes in for MCL surgery.

Not buying this plot twist.

He’s gonna have an anvil fall out of a window and crush him into the pavement during the offseason.

Only thing that makes sense.

No blood supply to the ACL, so it doesn’t heal on its own.

As long as his ACL is in tact, there’s possibly options….but the caveat here is it needs to be a grade 1 type sprain. In that scenario the ACL received significant trauma but it can still maintain joint stability.

Even if it is in tact, if it is stretched beyond a grade 1 level (partial tear), it is likely he will need surgery on it to return to 100%…..but let’s hope for more good news.

Shocking that internet Doctors and Surgeons are once again surprised by an unexpected diagnosis.

”I don’t have a medical degree, I don’t have access to Chubb’s medical records, I haven’t seen the MRI so I’ll just eat a bowl of week old unrefrigerated fermented black beans and blast my medical opinion on the injury straight outta my ass.”

Some of you need to break out the shovels and dig out Chubb’s career which you prematurely buried.

Probably not necessary though [insert Undertaker video here].

I'm just happy that the injury won't end his career. Any good news is great news. Still, Steelers eat poopoo.
