He doesn't have anything to fuck up in this case, but him being too busy golfing to even speak on a shit panic induced in this country speaks volumes to the kind of guy you support is all...

I have no problem with him directing people to the DoD for comment right now. It's very likely that they know more about the situation than Trump does.

I'd rather he was banging porn stars in the basement of the WH. I'd think that a porn star/hooker a day with a $130,000 payoff for each instance would still cost less than one trip to Mar-a Lago.

Unlikely unless they were running a drill. Either someone forgot to disable something or someone didn't get word it was a drill.

Funny story: In Iraq my unit accidentally launched a few 120mm mortars into town because someone forgot to tell the counter-battery team that the TOC was conducting a drill. They got the word there was incoming, got the grid and fired. Whoops.

No one was hurt.
 
My uneducated guess, is the US is preparing “warning alarms” in the event North Korea decides to do something stupid.

Somehow, someway, yes someone botched what was likely to be a “dummy run” and it actually went live. Like you, I don’t believe this was a “changing shifts” situation.

I’m not a “tech” person so I don’t know how that happens in practice, but that’d be my guess.

I guess more troubling, IMO, is that it seems people at high levels are getting prepared for “something”....

Emergency Messaging Systems are a big deal. Lots of money going into refreshing these now. See AMBER alert paging and such. Many are piggy backing off of that technology, so it's availability is a lot more present today than anytime before, and more likely to get accidentally triggered. Just find the guy wearing the #ITILSUX T-Shirt and fire him, it was his fault.

@The Human Q-Tip and @gourimoko I think can agree that no Star Trek Captain does white-hot incandescent rage like Sisko.

Come to think of it, I think we only see Picard lose it once (First Contact), Kirk maybe twice?

Never watched DS9, and can only figure out inferentially that Sisco is the guy in the gif.

As for Kirk...it's really tough to know exactly what is going on sometimes because of Shatner's acting. I mean, what would you call....

DS9 is a worthy watch, really really enjoyed it when I marathon'ed it a few months ago. I tried Voyager, couldn't get into it, DS9 is the last Trek series I've watched :(
