I'm ecstatic that people like it- if not a little surprised. It's a very complex story and the average goon who watches these shows, from what I gather reading Internet forums, doesn't even know the names of any of the characters let alone catch the tiny intricacies that book readers will surely appreciate.
The good thing is the popularity means we should see A Storm of Swords adapted, hopefully, as rumored, into two seasons. Beyond that I'd say there is no guarantee...but I think A Storm of Swords is a lock to be scene on television.
And let's be honest. If done correctly, that could be two of the best seasons of television. Ever.
Just read yesterday that the teaser they put out got over 3.5 million hits on Youtube in a matter of 3 days, which is the most views of any online HBO promo ever.
Guess people like this show.
