The Paul George Safari: LeBron Strikes Back!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trading Love for Melo doesn't help us if that's our off-season move. I'm ready for the Melo safari, maybe a Wilson Chandler safari, and a big man that can defend the paint safari.

I'm ready to see Paul George in a Lakers uniform.

Trade Kevin Love for DeMarcus Cousins / Hope Phil Jackson continues to huff paint and does a buyout of Melo

Starting 5:
Kyrie
JR
Melo
LeBron
Cousins
Great starting five...every game vs the GSW 150-125 for the GSW!

How is Cousins available again? Pelicans aren't going to punt the AD/Boogie duo after 2-3 months of playing time together. I don't think they're a good fit together personally but they will have to address positions 1-3 before coming to a conclusion on the pairing.

If we strike out in a big trade to improve the team, we can just do what some of us did after Game 5....

Yes I absolutely can do that and it makes sense. They have no leverage so they should take what they can get because something now is better than nothing later. Plus keeping them hurts their rebuild position AND keeping hi on the roster likely will harm much more than it helps as the fans will not be happy and the team won't buy in to him as a leader.
You are polarizing the situation. It's not black or white. They can keep George and still start the rebuild process. If all they're getting back for George is junk anyway (which apparently people think) then it's hardly going to move the needle in the rebuild process.

Every time one of these big name players pops up we float around these outrageous trade offers where we acquire an awesome player the other team gets a bunch of junk we don't want. If we are so eager to get rid of these players, why on Earth would a team like Indiana want them? It's like, if Thompson/Shumpert left we'd universally hear "don't let the door hit ya", but Indiana is supposed to welcome them with open arms like their mediocre play and undesirable contracts are integral components to a rebuild process? Is cognitive dissonance a requirement to discuss hypothetical trades?

Again, the sentiments of "George's value has taken a HUGE hit, we can get him in for pennies on the dollar" and also "the Pacers are so stupid if they don't trade him, they have to get SOMETHING for him" conflict with each other. If George really has had his trade value destroyed, it's all the more reason for them to hold on to him. This bizarre situation where you think both of those two things are true reeks of a delusional fan that thinks the rest of the league owes the Cavs something and should make a lopsided trade in Cleveland's favor.

Do we really need a big trade though? I'd argue that we either need to add another all star to our big 3, or try and build up our bench. Luckily for us it's possible that we can do both depending on what happens with the Knicks and whatever moves the Cavs can do to add some depth.

Sounds like you guys are finally ready for reality.

Only Cavs move in this offseason is obtaining Melo in 3 team deal while trading out Love.

If we want any chance at keeping Lebron past 2018 this is the deal we will need to make.

Its the deal we will make.

As I told you all days ago.

Fun fact: If we trade Love for Melo we will get swept by the Warriors assuming LeBron manages to drag us to the Finals again.

This isn't fucking fantasy land

Agreed, and we seen it the last couple of days, Pacers are fine with waiting on a deal if the deals available right now are not good for them. I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I'm positive they will see better offers once the wave of major free agents sign, especially if the teams that struck out still have their cap space.

Trading KL for Mellow isn't going to be the upgrade most think that it will...now adding him if he were to get bought out might...but the Cavs have to upgrade the bench...

Fun fact: If we trade Love for Melo we will get swept by the Warriors assuming LeBron manages to drag us to the Finals again.

Is there any scenario where we don't get swept by that gang of assholes with the roster as is?

We are probably the 2nd best team in the league right now, probably the closest to catch these assholes, and we'd still struggle to win a game against them.

This isn't just a cavs problem either. Literally no other team can beat them. Not Boston, Not Houston, Not San Antonio, Not the Clippers, Not the Raptors...No one.

You can't beat a team like this that has the refs (read the league, adam silver, ESPN) in their pockets, plus a freak of nature bench, some assholes that seem to make every fucking shot, and oh yeah, they added the 2nd best player in the world because he's a cuck with no balls.

Maybe an argument "could" be made if somehow Boston got some sort of 2008-like upgrade. Maybe some fictional LA Lakers superteam that is in the works. Maybe PG/Butler/Westbrook/Griffin on us...I don't know.

I do know one thing. We gotta at least TRY to enter into this arms race. I don't know how it's done, but something has to be done. This isn't even just about us any more. It's about the sake of sanity, competiton for the league. Because if the Cavs don't step up? We're gonna be stuck with these assholes for a long time.

Who's thinking that would be an upgrade? Marginally better scoring, far worse on the rebounding end, and probably a wash for D. Man...

upgrade the bench.. I'd love the Cavs to target Ariza and Beverly (is it even an option? Houston is always looking to dump contract in hot pursuit of 2nd round ousting, so maybe). Gets you more defensive minded, stronger role players for when James sits.

Everyone is looking up at GS. You have to play perfect to have a shot, and really only Cleveland has a shot, if they play perfect, everyone else has no shot regardless. Cavs should use the regular season to learn how to play perfect, even if for shorter bursts and going 10-11 deep in the rotation. Doesn't seem like we have the ammo for Butler or PG.
