The Restaurant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Update: L'Albatros was phenomenal. Sat outside on a terrific early-fall evening. The escargot and bouillabaisse were terrific. I'll add my recommendation to Rafters'.
A good bouillabaisse is hard to find.

Their cassoulet is even better.
I wonder if it can compete with my Veau Marengo.

Combining cooking and Napoleonic history is a true winner.

It is one of my crown jewels.

It was so good that it is the first question a certain Washington Supreme Court Justice asks me every time I see her.

"Have you made any Marengo lately?"

So wife & I won 5 free chicken nuggets each because TT missed two FTs in a row. Chick-Fil-A tonight!

Except - find out you have to redeem your ticket by 10:30 am the next day. WTF? Free nuggets lost.

No problem, we’ll just order anyway. Placed an order for four through the app, picked it up and drove home.

They shorted me the waffle fries. Nobody got their waffle fries.

I had problems with this store before shorting orders. Started to count in the parking lot, realized wife daughter & grandkid were waiting, stopped counting.

Trust but verify.

Glad we won last night or I’d be pissed for real.

Finnys in Norton: Mondays is 60 cent wing night. Tuedays is Queen of Hearts drawing. Wednesday is 1/2 price burger night. They have alot of good beers on tap, and most nights have really good specials, wraps, dinners. The prices are pretty good, the atmosphere is insane for football, especially OSU. I highly recommend this place.

40 minutes due east of my Ohio house. Might have to hit it sometime.

I don't know if this is the right place, but I just enjoyed a gift with Northeast Ohio origins:

When I lived in Cleveland and then Pittsburgh, these guys were smack dab in the middle in Walnut Creek, Ohio. No idea they existed. I just had some kind of pecan confection mailed to me that blew my mind.

Anybody else a Coblentz fan?

So my mom is mourning the loss of Corky and Lenny's. My grandma was a pretty prominent member of the Jewish community and was very good friends with Corky. I grew up as that being the only option for Jewish food outside of the occasional Lue and Hy's which was around the corner from me in Akron.

I know they are being sued for labor wage issues, and thats not good, but its a sad day to me as that was part of my childhood for sure. Here in AZ, I frequent Chompies, which is good, but was sold 4 years ago to a corporation, so the neighborhood Jewish deli is starting to die a bit. Although a new Israeli restaurant did open up in my neigborhood that i am very excited to try some time.

I mean, it was a Cleveland institution. We’ve unfortunately lost a lot of these in the past few years.

I used to go to Corky & Lenny’s when I visited my eye doctor in Beachwood. She retired. Great doc and cute as hell.

My grandma lived in Beechwood my whole life until she passed 20 years ago.

Chompies selling is one of the most depressing things ever to happen.

My favorite middle eastern place is Green Corner- and I just am so depressed that they’re one step from that

If she was like us, she loved driving around to look at all the Christmas lights when we visit our family in Beechwood.

Correction: for the Christmas lights.

My grandma loved Christmas lights, we used to go to Nela Park every year in the 80's when I was a kid.

Side note, never understood why Christians decorated their houses for Christmas but Jews never did for Chanukah...the festival of lights, lol
