The dude set up a meeting for them to get dirt on Hillary. They went to the meeting and it had nothing to do with dirt on Hillary, it had to do with adoptions. Campaign officials said it was a complete waste of time. So yeah, it seems like they were either misled or deceived and the meeting wasn't what they expected.

Are you aware of what the "adoptions" thing is? Russia stopped allowing adoptions of Russian orphans to Americans as part of a response to the Magnitsky Act AKA a major sanctions bill. They were talking about sanctions and admitted it, framing it as adoptions so that people could wave it off as unimportant. I'm sure Gouri could write a book on here about the implications of all this and Q could write a novel about how none of it matters legally or something.

We still don't know what came of that meeting and it's absolutely asinine to take them at their word that there was no dirt and no follow-up. Why? Because of the multiple lies they have told about the nature of the meeting, the people at the meeting, who knew about the meeting, and the response to the meeting being discovered.

Regardless of the outcome, Godspeed to Mueller and his crew.

But miraculously you're still taking them at their word?

The entire reason we know about the meeting was emails, which they presumably did not know were going to be found and read. If they had, they likely wouldn't have written them at all, or at least been more circumspect about what they did write. So, it is not unreasonable to assume that the emails themselves are fairly reliable

The complete lack of any follow-on emails discussing this successful meeting, what was obtained or agreed to, etc., suggests the meeting was a bust. It doesn't prove it, but as someone who has reviewed literally a million of pieces of paper looking for stuff in similar contexts, the lack of any such follow-on documents is a pretty good indicator that they may be telling the truth on this.

Considering everything else that has leaked, if any such emails existed, we'd probably have known about them long ago.

There are literally Nazi rallies happening without any efforts by the government to stop them, the EPA is being dismantled and we're possibly on the brink of nuclear war. This man and his fascist regime need to go. How this is even possibly debatable is beyond me.
