The people who set federal government policy are either 1) elected, or 2) appointed by someone who is elected. Those are the only two ways to have any legal authority.

Right, so what's stopping appointments of people that don't fit neatly into the two specific groups you mentioned as the only choices? That was my entire point, and I don't understand how that could have been lost on you. I know who sets policy, Tip, and I know how they get into positions to do so. You made the claim that only politicians or educators could ever find their way into that position, which is absurd.

But this conversation has run its course.

It's hilarious to me that you believe parents should have more authority over deciding what is taught in public schools than the professionals teaching it, so I'm gonna bow out.

So what? It's illegal or it isn't. If 12 doesn't matter than Huma didn't lie because they only found 2 classified emails on weiners computer.

No one has ever been prosecuted for this. This successfully passes your Logan act litmus test.

Personally I am not surprised baby boomers don't understand emails and servers etc.

Dude, I never said that. I do think it is likely that educators will predominate in the Department of Education (they always have so far), but others can be appointed to it as well. Please go back and check my posts.

Yes - parents/taxpayers/voters (and teachers in that capacity), and the people they elect. Because the schools belong to them, not to the employees.
