The Walking Dead

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll give them a shot to see where they take it when Rick leaves the show. They're doing pretty well with some of the other characters, but Rick leaving will create a huge hole. And I think Maggie is leaving as well. That will be another hole, though obviously not as big. I just don't see anyone else capable of filling Rick's shoes, much less Rick's and Maggie's. I have a sneaking suspicion where they may go with it...if so, I won't be watching anymore. But we'll have to see.

Eh. Doubt anything will save it when Rick goes. Lincoln has carried this show through a lot. Sucks that he’s leaving.

Is your suspicion that Negan takes over?

Long-term, no, though I do think that will be a somewhat-temporary story arc.

My suspicion is more along the lines of how they may plan to increase ratings by trying to increase their appeal to women. I hope I'm wrong.

I mean, if you're still watching this garbage at this point, not sure what's going to push you away now.

Are you still watching it?

Last episode I watched was the one where Negan was deciding who to kill and it was the end of season cliffhanger. Since they couldn't even do one of the easiest scenes from the comics right, I checked out.

They really blew that. They admitted that they were aiming for controversy to generate suspense and off-season buzz, which is a pretty asinine risk to take when you're already the most popular scripted show on TV. The dumbest thing about that was that there would have been a huge amount of buzz anyway.

I do think that so far, the show seems to be better this year than either of the last two years. I just worry that they'll basically go the SJW route, which would be it for me.

I have no idea what you're talking about with the SJW stuff.

And that cliffhanger was dumb because everyone already knew he was going to kill Glenn because that's literally the most iconic scene from the comics, and the one everyone was waiting for them to get to.

I know. It hasn't yet happened, and may not.

By "everyone" you apparently mean "everyone who read the comics", which I suspect was actually a minority of overall viewers.

What does that even mean?

The reasoning that the men (Rick, Governor, Negan, Simon, etc) have been the cause of all the suffering due to their choices. Now the women (Michonne, Maggie, Carol, Jadis) will bring about the future in the right way after following the central planning given to them from Georgie, like Moses giving the ten commandments to the people.

Well, the comic certainly never goes in that direction. No idea if the show will, nor do I care. Hell, don't even know who Georgie is.

I'll probably tune in to see how Rick checks out and I think I will check out after that.

Another great episode in my opinion. Shame it took them this long to get great writers/show-runners in here since most of the stars of the cast are gone or about ready to be gone.

Rick's last episode next week is going to be must-see television.
