Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, the end of that first episode of Wolf Among us... That's a gut punch :(

edit: Err...uhh wait.

Just bought a Nintendo 64 with four controllers, memory card, two rumble packs, memory expansion pack, and Goldeneye for $135 from eBay. Then bought Perfect Dark, Mario Tennis, and Rogue Squadron. HURRY THE #### UP UPS.

I just recently downloaded Planetside 2. I only get like 25 fps on very low but it's still pretty fun.

Updated Thief impressions:

I'm enjoying this game. As I mentioned before, it feels a lot like Dishonored without the super powers. I definitely miss the blink ability, but this game is generous enough with giving you enough time to slip away before a guard fully sees you and raises the alarm that it's rarely frustrating. The quick save/load feature helps as well.

I an actually very surprised by how big this game feels. I got to the first "open world" area of the game and thought that was going to be the entire hub world (it wasn't all that big), but then after the first chapter I encountered two additional hub areas. These are the areas that you can traverse between the more linear story missions, and you can pick up additional smaller jobs as well to hit along the way in addition to just finding random loot or stealing from guards. It's pretty well-designed and there seem to be a ton of side missions (I received four after the prologue and six more after chapter one), so there's no lack of content. I've played for almost five hours and haven't even hit the second story mission yet.

Visually, the game is great. Shadows look fantastic, as does fire. The first chapter takes place in a converted foundry that is now being used to loot and burn the bodies of plague victims, and there is a haze of ash in the air at all times. It really looks incredible. Character models and animations aren't quite as impressive, but are serviceable. Admittedly I am still early in the game, but the level design is generally solid, and there are often multiple paths through each area (depending on whether or not you've got the right tools, which can be purchased throughout the game).

The worst sin of this game is still the damned space bar. I'm never 100% sure which jumps the game will let me make, and this can lead to confusion. Sometimes I want to jump from one ledge to another, but instead Garrett leaps down to the ground, occasionally right in front of a guard (quick load time!). It's just really poorly implemented, and I have no idea why there wouldn't be a jump button in a game like this where you spend half your time sneaking around rooftops. It's not game-breaking, but it is highly annoying.

The story, as of right now, hasn't really gone anywhere. In the prologue, Baron Northcrest (the evil overlord of The City in the game) tries to summon some sort of demon or god or some such, Garrett's apprentice (or whoever) screws up and gets herself killed, and Garrett finds himself waking up a year later having no idea what has happened in the interim. There's now a plague ravaging the city (surely a result of the failed summoning in the prologue) and shit has hit the fan. That's about the extent of it so far, and from all the reviews I've read it never really makes a ton of sense. We'll see.

I'm at the point now where I feel I can recommend the game. If you liked Dishonored, I feel like you'll like Thief. The art style and even story are similar, and the gameplay, provided you went stealth, is pretty identical as well. It's not as good as Dishonored, but really, not a lot of games are. Dishonored was brilliant, and one of the best games I've played in years.

Wow, maybe I should look into selling my old one.

Mario Tennis is so clutch. Goldeneye multiplayer is annoying but the campaign mode is still worth a run through.

I think Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart were my favorites behind Goldeneye. Such fun games to play with 3 other people in the room with you.

Nowadays I really only play with people online, it doesn't have the same feeling IMHO.

FYI new episode of The Walking Dead comes out this week!

Can't wait for South Park! It looks great. Was doing some cleaning and found my fallout: new Vegas. I think I'm gonna throw that back in until SP.

I've been playing the fuck out of new vegas on my pc. God Mode for days.

Jesus, I'm still playing Amalur and I'm not even close to beating it yet. This game is just fucking massive.

Playing right now: GT2

idk what it is but I have more fun playing old games than new games. Nostalgia? Shrug...I have the God of War pack, that MGS Raiden game for PS3, and a couple other PS3 games I have not played, or barely played.

Got in about thirty minutes of South Park: The Stick of Truth last night before bed. It's really good. It's basically Paper Mario meets South Park, which is about as awesome as it sounds, and this is coming from someone who hasn't actively followed South Park for at least five years or so. I'm a big fan of some of the older episodes (Scott Tenorman Must Die is the greatest episode ever), but I kind of lost interest over time, although I still catch the occasional episode.

Anyway, the combat is turn-based, but like in the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi RPGs, there are time-sensitive button prompts that allow you to deal more damage or block a percentage of it if you nail them. Like in the Mario games, this makes the combat more active and engaging. Different enemies require different tactics to be successful too. For example, someone in the parry stance will block and counter any melee blow you throw at them, which means you need to use your ranged weapons. Enemies with shields are best served with multiple weaker blows, while opponents with armor are dealt with via stronger, singular attacks.

I'm still very early in the game and haven't unlocked any additional attacks or perks, so I can't comment on how well they work. So far, though, the gameplay is fun and looks to be deep enough to sustain the game's 15-20 hour campaign. I've seen a lot of review sites note that the length is 10-12, but I'm guessing that's just plowing through the main storyline without doing much side exploration and maybe skipping sidequests as well. I intend to explore every inch of the town that I am allowed to, as I've heard it is packed to the brim with easter eggs.

Oh, and the game is really funny too. I'd encourage anyone thinking about buying it to watch that first thirteen minutes of gameplay I posted above. That was what moved me from on the fence to pre-ordering, and I haven't been disappointed. I can't wait to get home tonight and play more. :chuckles:

Just started downloading South Park, will chime in later after I play some. I'm in the same boat as Brickman. I used to watch it back in the day but then just stopped. I haven't seen anything from the last several seasons.

Instead of buying South Park, I just ended up watching a play through. Haven't had much time to game but really wanted to check it out so working while watching it was much easier. Overall I think it deserves over an 8. Fun story.
