The Guardians will interview Giants bullpen/catching coach Craig Albernaz about their upcoming managerial vacancy, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Terry Francona may officially announce his retirement as Cleveland’s skipper as early as tonight, so the Guardians are already lining up what is expected to be a long list of possible replacements.
Interesting candidate if only because he has held a low prestige coaching position in the majors and has very limited minor league managerial experience. Curious as to how he got on the manager radar.

We don't know behind the scenes about things, so it's likely, he's isn't unknown to GMs...

Probably asking about Giants' relief pitchers. ;)

j/k

Glad Sandy will still be around.
That will no doubt be suggested to whoever the new manager may be.. Not a guarantee.. and it shouldn't be...

Like you.. I hope he can find a way to stay & work with the incoming on field leadership...

For Bo's sake Sandy should certainly stay.

Additionally, if he's anywhere close to the savant the broadcast team suggests in helping our stolen bags secured and reading pitchers timing to home & pickoff moves... Dude is a weapon.

I really do think it will be the manager coming in with maybe a bench coach while the rest of the coaching staff pretty much staying the same...
